Don’t laugh, but I seem to recall that , at the time of purchase of the C130, these Astrodomes were for visuals on other aircraft when dropping paratroops, but that doesn’t explain why only certain aircraft have them., and they’re not all of the “K” model. I doubt very much that RAF navigators carry sextants around with them and as I said earlier, it is a feature found only on RAF Hercs.So far, I haven’t found a specific reason for having them! Anyone know?
