The post I was replying to there appears to have disappeared.

Give it up.
You’re wasting your time. It isn’t going to happen.
Glad you enjoyed the trip Hatton.
I have similar pics from my trip mid 80’s and things look no different from then. Its a unique place.

Meanwhile, firefighters in the west of Scotland were attacked with fireworks in the course of their duty last night.
“Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori”…..The powerful words of Wilfred Owen.
Never forget.

Ban their sale to the general public. They are a bloody menace, and a dangerous menace at that.
Last night it was like a battle zone round here, with bangs and flashes every few seconds, and fire brigade sirens to boot.

Got nothing to do with historic aviation, but visit the Italian P.O.Ws’ chapel.
Its amazing. Kirkwall Cathedral is worth seeing. Theres a memorial to the crew of the Royal Oak there, with the ship’s bell, and of course, there’s Skara Brae if you like that sort of thing.
Of course on a serious note, it’s inevitable that this is what happens to large aircraft left outside for several years, particularly in bad weather. The Concorde at East Fortune is safely tucked up indoors. Unfortunately the Vulcan isn’t, but thats already been discussed umpteen times on this forum.
Not bad for phone pctures!
