We buzz about our modern world at great speed, with our digital technology, mobile phones and our modern day false heroes, worshipping them just because they’re famous, and not because they’ve actually done anything that matters.
We forget who the real heroes are and were. One of the blokes on that programme said they only want to be remembered. Those words hit home.
Future generations must not forget them.
Yup, the Canadians know how to do it properly.
Absolutely right my friend.
Absolutely right my friend.
Youre probably right. Should have catalogued all my old photos.
This one was taken at Leuchars.
Anybody see this beastie mid 80’s?
A little reminder.:(
I’d love to visit Norway.
I’d bring my sledge, and would be only to glad to see the snow.

I’m probably in old git territory too, but when I were lad, and there did seem to be more snow, you just got on with it.
Now its the “snowiest snow since snow began” every flaming year, and when it threatens to fall south of Newcastle, everybody gets the heebie jeebies.
ahem…….its winter!

Greetings,I’ve been reading this forum for nearly a year now, and read it daily. So fascinating !
Reading this post prompted me to post for the first time.
When I was a boy of 5 in 1975, we lived in Singapore because my father was in the NZ Army Overseas Detachment.
Anyway, he used to fly RC model aircraft out at the old Changi Airbase.I remember seeing a derilect Gloster Javelin lying off the side of the runway and wondered if anyone has any information on this (ie whether it was an takeoff/landing accident)
Looked on the ThunderandLightnings website but didn’t see anything.
Cheers
Chris
