RE: Brussels Museum – Battle
I have photos of the Lanc in the hangar in full cammo colours and also a rather distant shot of her in her original Canadian scheme.
If my memory serves me, wasn’t there a Hudson in the collection as well, and was it the one that ended up in Hendon?
I’ll get round to posting some of these one day- when I can get my imaging set up to work properly.
RE: 558 hopes dashed ?
They’d need rather big crates!
RE: 558 hopes dashed ?
I for one would rather see her flying abroad than not at all.
There are other ground running Vulcans in the U.K.
O.K. its not a comfortable thought- but Mike Beachyhead is doing a marvellous job with Lightnings and Buccs.
RE: Brussels Museum – Battle
The Huricane was sadly destroyed in a hangar fire in Canada a few years ago.
RE: 558 hopes dashed ?
I’ve bought my last lottery ticket.
RE: Propeller fetish
Those big contra rotating jobs do it for me every time- especially on a Shack!!
RE: All the Usual Suspects!
Good photos mate. Got any DH60 shots showing the aileron positions and/or cockpits? I’m building a radio controlled model and looking for detail.Regards

RE: Bombing of Edinburgh in Scotland during WW2 (Edinburgh area)
I think I recommended the following book to you once before- “This Present Emergency” byAndrew Jeffrey. It gives full details and is very readable.
Hope this is helpful.
RE: Aircraft recovered from the glacier flies…
Fantastic news.
Could’t help thinking of the late lamented Kee Bird when I saw this story.
Does anyone know what happened to the B17 recovered from the frozen North some time after the Kee Bird debacle?
RE: Latest news from Museum of Flight at East Fortune.
The only way is up!
RE: XV474
I believe the Phantom acquired by the Museum Of Fllght (ex Us Navy) a couple of years ago came from Yeovilton. Don’t they have a Phantom in Navy colours on the Carrier exhibition?
RE: XV474
This would be why so many potentially first class museum exhibits have been turned into dog food tins. I can’t see the m.o.d allowing a plane in private hands that could give Tornados a run for their money to take to the skies- however much we’d all like to see a Rhino at full tilt again.
RE: Beaufighter !!
Last time I saw it, in the summer, it was pretty much as it arrived. Perhaps they’re waiting for the Spitfire to complete before they start it. Things don’t seem to move too fast in the restoration hangar. Quite understandable considering the number of airframes in it- not least of which is the Blenheim.
RE: aircraft wrecks in Scotland
Merlin, I recognise you fron the old M.O.F. forum. How did you get on with your undersea project?
RE: FW-190 at Manching
Tempests and Typhoons- one can but dream.. I agree wholeheartedly about P51’s. What is the point?
