Thought that was Continental? Also a BA from Madrid heading North over the Lake District. Could be a busy night now for all airports in the North.
Two flights due in the next few minutes from Boston and one from Kiev at NCL!!! All Britsih Airways.
It’s very sad news that the passenger died and somehow it always seems worse when it is a child. A very traumatic experience for everyone involved.
But if we are to be pedantic, Runway 32 is still wrong as in the original post he says it was an aircraft leaving MAN which returned when it was, according to others, a flight which originated in Paris.

Kev35 if you look at post no 3 this has already been pointed out!
Thanks for your help in answering my original questions for any info regarding this AA flight. Your help has been most useful!;)
Fantastic shots Danny. I see you ventured down to the pan. At least I could take shelter in my car when the weather really changed for the worse! This was made worse by the 3 and a bit hour delay in the TCX A330 departure!
The MEN reported that the child died:(
My spy in the camp tells me that all it was was a medical divert. The aircraft did land overweight, hench the fire engine. to add to their woes one of the reverser halves did not stow when de selected. Both the CF-6 and the CFM-56 reversers have a left and a right half that normaly operate together. Some times one side does not do what the other one does, either stays stowed or refuses to stow. If one half stays deployed that engine will not be able to get above idle. Happens every now and again, a pain in the a~~e for us as we have to fix it:D

Very sad news with regards to the child.:eek:
I think Grey Area will now agree that I obviously saw that there was a problem as well with the ac after landing hense why all the emergency services followed the ac to its stand.:p
DavidS is bang on the money, folks.
It was a AAL41 CDG-ORD on a medical diversion and nothing to do with the aircraft whatsoever, runway 32.
A bit more thought might be in order in the future please, chaps. This is how rumours start, and you never know quite who’s looking in.
I am far from trying to start rumours.
I was at the AVP and this to me looked more than a medical divert.
You would not usually see five or more fire engines following an ac for a medical divert and you would certainly not see part of the engine housing missing.
I am not trying to disagree that this was a medical divert but I do think there is more to it!!
Thanks for the info Cloud 9. This must be a first for Jet 2 at LHR!
Its BD9341. Seems strange to charter to LHR. I didn’t think that BD would be able to get any extra slots for a one off charter.
This was the ac however on landing the fire briggade were out in force and there was definetly a problem with the port side engine – missing something from the engine housing around the opening for the reverse thrust!
Looking at the arrivals and departures at LBA Albanian Airlines are still really struggling with the Hajj flights.
Arrivals;
LV8533 1630 INDEFINITE DELAY
Departures;
LV8536 2130 NEXT INFO AT0900 NEXT INFO AT0900
LV8534 0530 INDEFINITE DELAY
Anybody got any more information regarding these extensive delays. I know that one of the flights the other day was refused to be allowed to land at LBA due to unpaid landing fees and had to divert to DSA.
:confused:
Austrian Arrows operated LBA to Innsbruck last year using the Fokker 70. The service will be operated by Austrian this Winter using the 737NG. Not sure which series though.
From what I’m lead to believe they’re not doing all that bad!
Paul
True, Jet2 has been posting some fantastic profits of late given the current climate. Personally I will still choose to fly Jet2 over Ryanair and I am sure a lot of others will agree!
Is that it???
Don’t be too harsh!! The thread title does make it sound a little more impressive though. At least its a bit different to the usual MAN and LHR! Not forgeting that its on Airliners.net.
Hi im picking people off a Thomas Cook flight TCX459L from Dalaman-Belfast tomorrow [03-08-2009] and they arrive at 19.30 but was looking up their flight details [they made a copy of flight tickets] and it says depart Dalaman at 16.30 and arrive Belfast at 19.30 , but if you take off -2 before you depart which will be 14.30 [uk time] it makes a flight of 5hrs ??:confused: is this flight stopping off some where as i just returned from Dalaman a week ago on an Onur Air A321 and it was only 4.10 hrs
You must have had a good tail wind on your flight back as the flight time from DLM should be almost 5hrs to Belfast. The Thomas Cook flight will be direct. Was your flight on the Onur Air a night flight as ATC will often give the pilot a more direct route than what would be given on a daytime flight, hense your flight only being just over 4 hrs.
Or Maybe another A330 order? :confused: are the A300 crap inside then ?
James
The A300’s are just rather tired inside and are ready for a refit. Some what cramped from what I remember as well – 3-3-3 config.
