As the AMRAAM has already been released to Singapore the RSAF has passed the biggest hurdle here.

US State Department export policy for weapons like AMRAAM hinges on whether or not a prospective customer nation has been cleared to acquire it. Singapore has – therefore the AMRAAM should be available to every rival platform in the NFRP competition. It’s already the baseline weapon for the F-15 and Eurofighter, so there is no issue there. While AMRAAM is not integrated on the Rafale, should Dassault win out in Singapore Raytheon has said there is no technical reason why the missile could not be made available for Rafale. They *have* thought about it before now.

And as for Python 4, that’s already in Singapore – isn’t it?

Well you need to have a long range fighter to get to the training sites 😀 .

ok ,we need the new plane to be able to chase the suks away. personally i vote for the rafale ,but i dont know what type have been offer to singapore, hopefully it will be the f-3 type with the m-883 with trust vector engine.with these the rafale performan may be better than the suks

It is no problem to integrate any kind of IR homing missile. That does not require any large modifications since these missiles only depend on their own seeker. The only problem I can see here is to integrate the Python with the Rafale’s own IR nose sensor or HMS. But today’s MIL-1553 databus standards should be able to handle this quickly..

AIM-120 could be a bigger problem. Even if classified as fire-and-forget, this missile still requires mid-course updates from aircraft’s radar (this time RBE-2) via a realtime data link. These two are definitely not compatible yet (since French generally dislike Yanks) and I wonder if Singapores would be wanting to pay for integration, test and evaluation..

Generally I would opt for MICA ARH. It is superior even to AIM-120C (Singapore uses Alpha standard only, am I right there?) and the price within the whole package could be pretty reasonable.. Not speaking about the fact that Singapore could expect some kind of ‘revenge’ from the side of the US if they dare to opt for foreign hardware and that additional AIM-120 supplies might become a problem..

In case of a conflict with Malaysia it would have been HOT! MKMs are supposed to be mirror-like MKI with Bars PESA radar, definitely nothing you can underestimate.

then we possible choose the wrong candidates ,from what i have seen in the net these three bird that we chose are not a match to the suks .so i think better dont buy what for.
