Good stuff. I do wish the LPG wouldn’t always choose the Legends weekend for their run days 🙁
Any shots of the pairs run?
I know Damien, choices, choices!!
Of the pairs run the only shot I managed with them both in the frame was the one of the two tails as they thundered past. Unfortunately no flames so it just looks like they are stood there!
What I really need is a 12-500mm zoom 😉 , I just couldn’t get them both in at the 70mm end.
Anyhow returning was much easier, although in fading light.

Amaizing how good this image stabilisation is these days isn’t it Stringbag ?:D
Anyhow plenty of other stuff ran in between the Lightnings including the cabroliet Hunter…

Both Polikarpov shots were taken on the takeoff run Cargomaster, and I was stood on the bank by the Land Warfare Hall which helps a bit.
The lens was a 300mm (first time out yesterday, quite pleased with the results so far) so the I-15 was too high up during the display for me to!
Don’t know if these are of interest to you Daz but here are a couple of scans from a set of cigarette cards my Dad collected when he as a lad, no date on them but must be 1936/1937?
A Nikon D100 with a Sigma 50-500 for the flying stuff Ray, and a Nikkor 12-24 for the statics.
Cheers everyone, I tend to think of Phantoms as historics now! – Neil h – the Vampire arrived at 13:51 on Friday (assuming the clock on my camera is set right that is! 😀 )
Think we got a better look at the typhoon doing circuits yesterday than today, a couple of passes and it disappeared into the murk and was gone!
Stringbag – just seen your other post, see why there was so many now! Pity they weren’t flying, would have been nice way to mark their 50th. Is their anything else planned?
Here’s another couple of JPs from today that I didn’t see on arrivals day.

I thought the Cat was down for the flying display and yet they stuck it in the static. I really hope it will be displaying. Where are you watching the display from tomorrow? Roadside tomorrow and then on base sunday for me.
Wonder if the cat will be taking the Connie’s place then? (static Sat, flying Sun).
Going to the show tomorrow, can’t get Sunday since I’m working. Typical really, Sundays tipped for the best weather!!
Quite a few acutually 🙂 …

Never noticed the sun at the time – but I am now!! 😮 😮
Pity they towed the cat around wasn’t it? Was hoping to get some taxi shots.
Thanks everyone, heyphil – they were taken with a Nikon D100, the flying shots with a sigma 50-500 attached.

OK its not Legends, but thats worth a trip for me, especially on such a historically significant day.
photos still seem OK to me (pbase is paid for webspace so bandwidth isn’t usually a problem), anyone else having problems?
Falcon – well yes I did take a few more. 😀 They are up at http://www.pbase.com/gareth_horne/breighton if you want a look, better not post them all here, this thread must be getting too big for those poor soles still stuck on a dial up connection.
If you want any higher resolution versions just PM me.
Davski – what a wonderfully civilised way to enjoy old aeroplanes, just added the July dates to my diary 🙂
Great clips Laurent, hadn’t realised that the connie was going to be at Flying Legends, that means Duxford in July is a definite for me (not that there was much doubt about that, had that weekend booked off since xmas!)
….Any chance the 4 skyraiders could accompany it too 😀
Hoping to got to Duxford next Sunday, looking forward to my first visit of the year.
