[Blushes] thanks for everyone’s kind words, it really was an amazing display, and given the late afternoon lighting and cloud formations it was too good an opportunity to miss. 🙂
For anyone with even a passing interest in this period, the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association is well worth joining, for the member’s day alone.
I believe PA474 is due back at Conningsby on the Linconshire Lancaster Association Members Day, which is next Sunday, hope they have the runway finished by then!
First time I’ve seen her run at night too, an real thought provoking sight, certainly worth the trip.
Next night run is in a fortnight I believe.
great memories…

It sometimes took 8 hours to get off the base!!
The traffic could be a nightmare, despite being by local base (normally less than half a hours drive), I was always later home than when I went to Duxford or Old Warden, 130 miles away!
Blue Angels displaying through the murk – was that 1992?
And here she is today, still active, at last months Elvington show, not looking bad after 10 years outside in our climate!
Thanks for confirming that Scott; I’ve been blowing up the scans to try and read a registration code but with no success. The nose art certainly looks like Lusty Lindy though, although I wasn’t sure.
The second Victor (the one that has landed) is XH672 ‘Maid Marian’, now resident at Cosford I believe.
A few more from the same show…

Cheers, I was using my (then) new Nikon F301, the first camera I’d ever had with an auto-wind, must have used half a roll of film on that one run!:D
Got some prints of the Buccaneers arriving too, plus a few bits and pieces that now fall into FlyPast territory, I’ll scan then in a minute…
Three examples at Al Jaber Airforce base, photographed on 10th March 2003 by James Douthwaite, (sorry don’t have any more details, thats what it says on the CD anyhow!)
DAzDaMan – they are jpgs (right click, choose properties for the original location if you need that)
Any problems mail me and I’ll send them back to you.
A few from this year…

I’m quite fond of Spitfires as you might have guessed 😀
Sorry Scott, had put them in a previous thread when someone was asking about that and the Buccaneer. Here they are again..

Plus a couple of ‘arty’ monochrome versions…
