thanks, they were taken with a 300/F2.8 Nikkkor lens (the AF-I model, an oldie but a goody!). You loose the flexibility of a zoom, but it has the advantage of a nice fast aperture when the light begins to drop.
Lovely stuff Gary, the Bleriot was fantastic wasn’t it? I’m beginning to think it would be a good idea to write off June and July for airshows – the light is so much nicer this time of year 🙂
thanks everyone! A few more for Anna 🙂

Got the MPEG2 file sat on the hard disc now, would you like a DVD-R of it running off?
Bump. On in half an hour….
Brilliant, good to see so many Brit. aircraft (abet heavily re engineered) in the gold final 🙂
Brilliant, especially the first one 🙂
Very nice set of images, the first show I remember is a 1970’s Yeovilton too! The massed helicopter assault looks as impressive as ever, even if the Wessex and Whirlwinds are long gone.
The SA 747 looks stunning 🙂
thanks – the Hurricane did indeed look a bit oily after its flypast with the Jaguars, it was perfectly clean when it arrived about midday

Exactly. Theoretically, this could be possible in the 300D (using the 300N mirror, for example).
Quite likely… but it would be a nice feature 😉
The sigma DSLR’s use a ‘sports finder’ (full size mirror and pentaprism, 1.7x crop sensor) which they push for just the reason you state Syraider3D. Personally I think the reason they’ve done it is due to the massive saving in R+D in adapting their film bodies
The Nikon D2X also has a high speed crop mode (2x field of view crop, 7million pixels) that just use the centre of the viewfinder too. Takes a bit of getting used to but can be quite useful in some situations.
Excellent images by the way, can see why you’re happy with the L39 shot!
Just one from me unfortunately, from a very misty Saturday morning

If its just a straight transfer to DVD-R I’d be happy to do it for you, its just a case of dump the footage to the PC via firewire, encode to MPEG2 and encode as DVD video.
Only problem I could think of is if its been recorded in long play mode, sometimes they don’t play well in cameras other than they were recorded on, but I’d be happy to give it a go 🙂
Brilliant 🙂 – would love to see a bear someday
