Mew Gull and Active were out on the flightline all day. Although they did not perform this time, both displayed at the July Fly in.

I was there on Sunday too, great pictures Steven. I thoroughly enjoyed the day.
One thing – I heard a rumour about a mystery plane in hanger 4 – supposed to be ultra rare and in Croatian markings…..Any ideas?
The AVIA FL3 at last Septembers fly in

cheers everyone, Buchon did indeed look superb taxiing with the Hurricane. Septic – Breighton is well worth the trip, first time I attended was last year, not missed one of their fly ins this year! 🙂
Lovely stuff Steven – you always seem to do better with that Hurricane shot than I manage, its so easy to blow the highlights or loose all detail in the aircraft. Going to have to try one of the lower contrast settings for it next year.
love the sea vixen take off, not seen it at all this year, what a pity!
Only one I got I’m afraid, could have used a bit longer on the flightline walk!
Nice, looks like a good selection of aircraft!
thanks!, according to G-INFO the Storch (G-BZOB) is registered to Anne and John Ashby
Hmm..nope, seemed to have linked the full size versions to the thumbnails!! back to the drawing board…
No idea if its relevant to Kestrels in particular, but de rating an engine usually allows it to run on lower quality fuels. Less compression means less chance of pre detonation. Given the limited availability of high octane petrol in remote parts of the empire, could this be an explanation?
Unbelievable. I always enjoyed reading Steve’s posts and fondly remember reading about Haydn’s flight in the Rapide.
Thoughts with his family at this terrible time.
Nearest I got to aviation today, a nice little find on a second hand book stall…

excellent, always love watching the geese/microlight combo – dunno why really, but its certainly different to most airshow acts 🙂
Good question Ant, don’t know the answer but I’m sure someone else around here is bound to 🙂 Must get more difficult to close as the speed increases.
What surprises me is the variation in the shape of the canopy, Susy’s is quite different to the one fitted to Janie, wonder if its a mod to allow more head room in the back or if its simply a case of variation in the manufacturing process?
