No doubt US Cricket team also won’t match that of Bangladesh. So even happier?

    :dev2:

    My point exactly. πŸ™‚ πŸ˜‰

GD and others, try this on for size:

China is not capable of producing a cricket team that can beat Bangladesh. So, Bangladesh’s AF can Bitchslap China around. Happy now? :dev2: :diablo:

    GD,

You are missing the point. If India were attacked again by China, people care. Right now, people care that China may attack India. People don’t care if Indian gymanstics team consisted of one 40 year old woman and looses to China.

also, There is no reason to assume that a nation which do not train personel capable of competing with the US and Russia across the board in major endeavors like the Olympics would do the same for its pilots, especially since it has far more money and resources than its opponent in this particular scenario. (you know, not blowing it on sport complexes and al… :diablo: )

HHawk, I am not ashamed about it. I am yet to meet an Indian who is ashamed of our performance in Olympics (may be in Hockey, that too only on media).

This post will probably be deleted as it is off topic, but I will post anyway.

Okay, let’s not include something that the US, Russia, China and all the other major powers put great stock in every four years and concentrate on something ignored by the major nations outside of Britain and that is dominated by teams from Australia and South Africa

Why should people in India care what those countries and its people do with their free time/money? If they find it fun, let them enjoy them. for example, most Indians don’t enjoy gymnastics and consequently don’t care who gets the gold in those games or if India has a gymnastics team. πŸ˜€ :dev2: :dev2:

Let’s talk about war record. After WWII, China fought the US in Korea and took land away from American forces (practically the whole of North Korea to be exact) and it fought the USSR to standstill without giving ground in either Ili region Xinjiang or in Manchuria. These were against the superpowers of their time. I won’t mention a minor and irrelevant conflict in the Himalayas where China took every piece of land in contention and then some.

    There is no comparison.

No one is disputing the Chinese record or the outcome of these wars. It only justifies India’s continued need for a modern armed force to prevent a repeat of this “minor” incident.

    GD,

Most Indians don’t care about Olympics. Let them include Cricket and then we can talk…. :dev2: :diablo:

No, but this does seem a bit counterproductive, don’t you think?

No. Counterproductive to POK people maybe. Not to Pak Army. They don’t want non-Moslem NATO troops checking out all those “camps”.

Its a shame that it takes a terrible event such as this for people to burry their differences and help one another. I wonder what this menas for future pakistan-india relations?

Nothing much. Killings go on, given that IA is busy elsewhere.

IMO, This Scorpene is a waste of purchase. I agree with SATAN regarding Amur. Scorpene purchase doesnt give any advantage except some money for the french. India should have chosen AMUR

Plan has always been to get two different lines of classic subs. Scorp and Amur. Now that HDW has been de-blacklisted, 214 may be in the running.

I always thought that the reason Pakistan was paid in Soy oil rather than cash was because it was US’s money to begin with and Pak could only buy US products with it. Otherwise, I don’t see why Pakistan had to take it Soy oil instead of cash.

Anyone have any information on whats the diameter of the LCA’s nose. Also can’t the nose be lengthened, not enlarged but lengthened. We’ve seen this done on the Mig-29M.

Jury is still out on “Should the nose be lengthened on LCA”. It will depend on its (MMR) radar’s size and LCA’s current size. Both of which are not known (open source).
