Sofar I have read reports about tests in US and here in the neighbourhood… Aircrafts have fixed role in a training. Most of the time those that are for a2g stay in that role. They do not just forget that and accept A2A. They are either heavy loaded and need the fuel to go to the target, or they returned from the target and need to go back to the base asap. They wil not move into wvr like topgun a2a pilots love to do. So those Jaguars will (most) of the time do their a2g work.

You answered your own question. “topgun a2a pilots” they are not. Other than that, what are you talking about?

If you want to compare the LCA to the J-10 because of the Kaveri’s road to failure, you should consider the the J-10 was built for the AL-31

Oh please. Look at http://forum.airforces.info/showpost.php?p=421927&postcount=102 ( I know, I know. He did post a gem 😀 ) The article clearly states that LCA will have either a Turbo-Union RB. 199 Stage B or a General Electric F404-RM12 turbofan as its initial series engine.

Wood is generally made up of layers with each year’s growth as a ring around the old growth. I am not sure how uniform their structural properties are. But if they differ significantly, shoudn’t it be considered as an composite?

I am not a Material guy, just wondering out aloud.

Isn’t wood technically a composit?

That is apart from the Grippen, which is really special design for swedish needs.

I always thought LCA is a really special design for IAF needs….. 😉 When did its GSRs change?

Jaguar and Tanker crew are top guns? The quality of this release is not high. They are bombers. Not air superiority fighters.

Indian version of “Top Gun” school has both a/a and a/g streams FYI.

From when did IA start operating MKIs? Love to see 200 or 300 MKIs in IA, but not going to happen 😉
