Discussing PAF and IAF on this forum is a total waste of time. All PAF and IAF threads need to be monitored and flaming posts should be deleted.
Until the mods start doing it, i am not coming back to this site when you have other sites like DT where you can discuss IAF and PAF wihout having to scan through posts afters posts of flames.
PAFs procurement choices are especially surprising given how poorly the F-16 Block 52 has fared in IAF exercises against the MKI, and the IAF will have some 230 MKIs alone. The JF-17 will fare even worse. The J-10 is also not a heavy fighter…
JF-17, F-16 Block 52 and J-10 will be very effective because of Awacs support and BVR. It’s been discussed before so use the search function.
Getting back on topic over here….
Are there any plans for an internally mounted FLIR?
From that angle,it looks like single engine F-5EII… 😀
Single engine F-5EII or the F-20 Tiger Shark ? 🙂
This may be the leased 777 from IFC and not the brand spanking new fresh off the Boeing assembly line 777s.
Air Canada leases additional Boeing 777-300ER to accelerate wide-body fleet renewal and modernization
MONTREAL, April 3 /CNW Telbec/ – Air Canada announced today it has signed
a 10-year lease for one new Boeing 777-300ER from International Lease Finance
Corporation to accelerate its wide-body fleet renewal and modernization
program.
Air Canada will take delivery of the leased aircraft in May 2007,
bringing to eight the total number of Boeing 777s entering the fleet next
year. Delivery of the leased aircraft will allow Air Canada to accelerate by
nearly two years the return of a leased Airbus A340-300 originally scheduled
to be returned to ILFC in mid-2009. The transaction is part of an ongoing
renewal program that will give Air Canada one of the most modern aircraft
fleets in the world and provide savings on fuel, expanded range capabilities
and other efficiencies.
In November 2005, Air Canada announced that it had concluded agreements
with Boeing for the acquisition of up to 36 Boeing 777s and up to 60 Boeing
787 Dreamliners. The agreements include firm orders for 18 Boeing 777s, plus
purchase rights for 18 more, in a yet-to-be determined mix of the 777 family’s
newest models: the 777-300ER, the 777-200LR Worldliner and the 777 freighter.
Delivery of the 777 aircraft is scheduled to commence in March 2007. The
agreements also include firm orders for 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, plus
options and purchase rights for an additional 46 aircraft. Air Canada’s first
787 is scheduled for delivery in 2010.
i got some J-11B picture for everyone interested.
Stunning pictures. Thanks.
Even IF the intention of the person who started the thread is to malign someone, the points he raised are valid and you or anyone else have not given any proof to invalidate his claims
Believe what you want to believe. I doubt that anyone can give you the definitive answer except for the equipment operators and/or manufacturers.
Perhaps someone from the forum can ask Ericsson at the Paris Air Show next year if this thread doesn’t end up getting locked by then.
This was a very good thread until the usual suspects started debating the LCA vs FC-1, who did what and how much non-sense. Kids will be kids i guess.
I hope the mod deletes those posts as opposed to locking the thread.
Yawn…. I am going to skip this movie. I saw the original japanese version years ago.

F-16’s for PAF is interesting news. Are there any non-US BVR’s options for F-16’s that have already been integrated and tested with C/D’s? I doubt AMRAAM would be offered to Pakistan.
1. Indian and Pakistani threads will continue to be ruined due to immature flamers who get there jollies fighting war of words online with anonymous counterparts.
2. Recently purchased ex British Navy subs will be sold off as scrap metal by Canada.
Nitin_V: Don’t try to degenerate this thread into a flamewar. Take your rants somewhere else.
Tiger: That’s a very nice pic. Thanks.
Judging by all the Indian Press articles posted it here; I was under the impression that India has already selected Mirage 2000-5. I guess this is just a carrot dangling exercise to prevent the Swede’s from selling Gripen to Pakistan.
The acqusition of 126 jets by India is turning out to be quite a fiasco.
$100million plus for that Vintage pieces?
Vintage? So what do you call the IL-38? Also check the date, its 2005 not 2050. 😀
As mentioned above, we are flying P3-C’s in Canada as well and i believe Japan has a fleet of 100. There’s a lot of life left in P3-C. 🙂
