    Hello,

Around this time pre production on ITVs “Pathfinders” would be starting, with which Hamish was involved.

    Cheers

    Hello,

If i remember correctly, they filmed PA474 over the Channel flying back from an airshow on the Channel islands and used this footage in the finished film.

I think this has led to the confused message that PA474 was used in the Guns of Navarone.

    Cheers

    Hello

In 1/24, I would think a Hawker Typhoon would be good, ( 70th anniversary of D Day ) but what i really hope they do is a range of WW 1 kits in 1/24, starting with a Camel or SE5a

    Hello,

If it was not for a “fake Luftwaffe finish” most of these would have ended up in a Spanish smelter 🙂

    Hello,

I think the deciding factor may be the in service date of 2027, the SDSR took a big gamble that we could do without carrier aviation till 2020, along comes Libya, which proved that a Carrier would have at least been an option (using fast jets and tankers saved the Goverments blushes but at great expense).

Maybe the people in charge presumed we could “muddle through” till 2020, but now realise the world is changing faster than they thought and 2027 for 1 carrier is a non starter.

    Cheers

“Which other country is claiming rights for Hawaii? “

Nobody, but the point i was trying to make is “self determination” of the people living there 2500+ miles from the us mainland, in response to the comment

“How a country can claim anything thousands of miles off its borders is beyond me”

I do realize Hawaii is a U.S. state but the Falklands are a British overseas territory

Hawaii anyone, as the people who live there wish to remain part of the U.S. why should it be different for the Falkland islanders ?

I always had the thought if the Argentinians had not have invaded they would have owned/part owned the islands by the end of the Eighties, but once blood has been spilled, very difficult.

    Hello,

I think it is ironic that on the same day of this announcement, the British embassy in Iran has been attacked, the advice from the foreign office, eh, keep indoors and keep a low profile (because I presume nobody is riding to the rescue if things get worse).

    Cheers

I do think we underestimate the American audience in both film and TV, after all theres no Americans in Harry Potter, TinTin, War horse, and I presume these are expected to do well in the states, as for TV theres no American characters in the Tudors, and only 1 in Downton Abbey.

As i have already stated in another thread GK films is owned by Graham King (OBE) a film producer who is British and has quite a good CV, I saw a trailer for his latest film “Hugo” which looked quite impressive.

if there is a good story to be told, and it is done well, it will sell

    Cheers
