Because its British and not American lol.
Seen reported on the Swedish Aviation Historical Forum that this has been scrapped, grounded in 2014 and put up for sale., no takers so has been scrapped , why wasn’t this donated to a museum or put up for preservation somewhere ?

There you go if its not an american type no interest in saving it.
Look like Prowlers to me
Well thanks to all for their interest and replies, its a shame that nothing was done with the aircraft in this country but at least its going to be restored and not too far away in belgium.
Yes RAF Scampton is another idea they announced big heritage plans for lincolnshire …what a good idea
If the cash is the only problem cant there be one last fund raise to pay for either ferry flight or hauled out in bits to the final destination its surely one you could justify the end result. If the enthusiats of the aviation world could give one last donation or to me it will end up being a rotting pile of scrap that should of been saved.
Well that didnt take long who is going to travel all the way to doncaster to see a vulcan do a static engine run, should have gone to a museum with a live runway ie.Elvington ,theres plenty of attractions in near-by York for the rest of the family lol. Here goes another iconic piece of UK history thats still living and breathing.
‘Penpusher’ Thats what the RAF should of done like the IWM Duxford put a live airfield aside and kept RAF types there that were relevant to what was once the greatest airforce in the world.Duxford is a Mecca and my favourite place but the types there are not just RAF and understandably so it perhaps could be a training place for new recruits aswell.
Yes i agree with Aileron we should of put an airfield aside with hangars full of museum aircraft and associated exhibits a live runway restorded flyable aircraft able to use a runway plenty of airshows drumming up the money and perhaps 3 situated evenly up and down the country for the rest of the population to enjoy to visit. There could of been every type of aircraft represented on one of the three sites for example .
i attend the show most years i have 1000,s of photographs of the aircraft i love the place especially the sound and i wait all year for the next one i truly thank the people involved in the whole warbird scene and to me its a special airshow and its the only day of the year when i stand in awe and dont moan theres nothing quite like it,dont start slagging it off or one year it maybe gone
Like the Bronco and Skyvan is that a new act it could be a refreshing change and one not seen before.
Ok thanks everyone if its not busy at the weekend i might have to have a trip down in the week this summer, but i have looked at a recent overhead picture and one of the hangars has been demolished ,which is worrying
yeh and i will second that Jester
I went to the flying boat museum this time last year pricey but all in a good caurse hopefully,i was talking to one of the staff and got around to the question of recovery and when, but he said it is too fragile to bring up so they will be leaving it down in the murky dock have they changed their minds now i wonder…
Yes please carry on we love the old pictures of days gone by,and yes it goes off topic but thats what happens in a forum ,its all good fun…lol
