what im trying to suggest Scotavia is these museums emerg with new intensions but when the owners move on ,sell up etc the exhibits are stuck in some distant part of the country with a good possibility of staying there until they get scrapped if you had them all in one live airfield/museum they would support each other with constant visitors coming to see an ever changing live airfield like brunty or elvington no built up areas with room for both museum and live aircraft and a view of housing the nations treasured aircraft.

Hopefully thats that shackleton saved for know but to me everything to do with aviation preservation seems to be comming apart at present.I think we should all group together and buy an airfield that the mod is closing with a good set of hangars ,long enough runway with no housing estate in the flight path, with the help of business and government and in the middle of the country and lets get all the aircraft in one place im sure there would be a steady stream of visitors to keep it open.Have an airliner museum in another part of the country and then youve got duxford looking after the ww.2 theme. To me people will go to these air museums and hopefully come back to see the parts they missed the first time.

This is great news but how come we had a perspex nose for a Halifax sitting in the uk when they have had to put an imitation one on the rebuilt one at elvington.
