Looks a nice buy! And from the advert i immeadiately found on Pistonheads it looks even better 😉
Very fair price for one of those, nice cars with less in common with the mondeo then you may think…..

Is it ok to admit i’m quite proud of actually, potentially, working out what something is on here? Normally its some rare 1920s bipane i’ve never heard of, but i may, may, have just guessed this one right! I think the fact i had a matchbox 1/72 JU188 hanging from my ceiling when i was a lad in a similar angle may have helped……until one night the string broke and it divebombed me of course.
Simon
Looking at the long engine nacelles (spelling?) and the glazing on the nose, im thinking JU188 actually?
Though i’m unsure if they were in service at this point? The Engines just dont look like a Blenheims. And unless they had a time machine it isnt a Sturgeon…

Apologies if this is derailing the thread somewhat but i always enjoyed Gallands the first and the last. Is this thought to be very accurate?
Mustang Pilot by Richard E. Turner was one i also enjoyed growing up. As was a book about Pattle, the author escapes me however. It was written almost in first person though if i recall correctly.

It must be a good 12-13 years since i visited but i remember the museum at Caen being quite a good general war museum also. With some very moving displays.
I dont know how long you have in the area but the area around Falaise is worth a visit, as is the castle. If you do have longer a trip south to St Michaels mount is also a good trip. i’ve just seen you have 5 days though so maybe not.
Its a lovely area of France with lovely people and excellent food.

What an excellent sight! I had no idea one of these was being made, makes a nice change as some have said.
If this does come to the UK, or more likely France, il have to go and see it. Otherwise looks like im off to Texas….

Not allowing males to drive til say 21 is franky, ridiculous.
Young males crash due to inexperience, bad judgement and poor grasp of car control at the higher speeds they invariably reach through the first two factors.
Its almost genetic that young men will speed (and crash) because young blokes are well, a bit dumb and full of testosterone.
My idea is simply to teach these people how to handle a car at higher speeds. I’ve done track days for years and it was instruction from a well trained profesional driver that has saved me before when people have cut me up on the motorway or pulled out in front of me on country roads.
Im not advocating teaching 17 year olds scandanavian flicks or heeling and toeing, but just ask a group of young drivers “in a front wheel drive car when the back steps out, what do you do?”
Most will say, “slam the brakes on!” When of course in fact with oversteer like this, steering into it with some throttle is what keeps you out of the scenery. Yes they shouldnt be going that fast anyway BUT they will do wont they? So lets at least try and keep them alive….it works in Scandanavia.

I agree with much of the above.
However as a young male i’d like to point out that perhaps better driver training would be better then simply banning all young drivers from anything over 1000cc. That kind of penalises people such as myself who aren’t a ‘nuisance’ in my cars, i just have a passion for them.
You can kill yourself and others in any car, but with better training, better testing and dare i say it better road policing numbers may start to drop.

Thing is while females claim as much as men, they tend to make smaller claims. Minor damage etc. Now men tend not to mess around in accidents. Such as myself who is bracing himself for his policy to go nuts when they take into account the fact i put an M3 through a sign in the ice last month.
Insurance is done on risk, the risk of males destroying the car, property, themselves or others is higher then females. Allegedly. Thus the quotes are higher.
Personally i think the worst drivers on the road are late middleaged women. They have no real interest in driving and so meander along. Yes young men and women drive quickly, but at least they pay attention to driving! But what do i know…..

Sorry Lincoln that one must have passed me by? Was that the Super Aguri team of a few years ago? If so those drivers certainly never got paid a penny! Pay Drivers do work slightly differently, in so much as win or not the teams dont tend to pay them, rather the other way round.
