Whitley Project asked about stamp marks – I had alook last night and still no numbers visible but it has a pretty thick covering of paint on it. So more exploratory work is required and perhaps some minor surgery if iot is from a JU88 or Mk1 spitfire it will become a disaplay item on our Squadron (ATC) wall. we have a Sea Hawk drop tank which we are working on and the spar was to become a training piece for riveting.

The other part is from a Buccaneer which is interesting as none crashed anywhere near the Pentland Hills. Ferranti did use XK487 on trials work out of Turnhouse so maybe it was discarded there. We got these bits from an ATC Squadron I have a cockpit instrument from XK487 which I got from another Edinburgh Squadron.
