Why don’t you do a comparison here Scooter about military spending and intervention over the last couple of decades between the US and China, so we may all be better informed, Scooter…
I think he won’t be able to compare it. Beacuse he doesn’t know any number solving or physics.
here’s some interesting material from one “Lop_Eared_Galoot”, from the reply
Its a proto-prototype for a larger, heavily armed
drone called the UCLASS that will provide a long-range bomber
capability that carrier-based aircraft currently flying, like the
F/A-18E/F and F-35C, do not have.
It’s true that the UCLASS will be a better strike aircraft with longer range and better bomb capacity. The next UCLASS will be a A-6 Intruder kind of UCLASS. So no doubt the UCLASS will be a better strike aircraft than the F/A-18 and F-35. The F/A-18E/F lacks the range from the Tomcat, A-6 etc, lacks combat raduis (390mi) and lacks the bomb capacity. The F-35 of course will be better at the strike role too than the F-18E/F . Better combat raduis, bomb capacity, range.
here he seemed to have misread, thinking the author was argumenting that the F-18 and F-35 are fighters rather than bombers. but he certainly makes a point, these aircraft are poor fighters compared to the F-15 or Su-27 in a performance sense
This is getting pretty amusing once you don’t know what your talking about(Lop). This is very amusing(Lop). The F-35 and F-18E/F aren’t poor fighters compared to the SU-27 and F-15. Remember the F-18E/F is only lacking acceleration and kinematic performance beacuse it doesn’t have a 20% powerful engine it’s supposed to have. They saved the $100,000 for the more powerful EPE Engine for the next gen Block III roadmap. The F-35 it’s seems it does have problems as a fighter.
This is important since it is essentially a lie. However many pirouette maneuvers it does, the F/A-18E/F is not a fighter since it lacks the Ps to do the principle -intercept- (Remember that folks? As goes the intercept, so goes the fight?) management of the fight geometry, which is all supersonic at height in being what drives the BVR capability to put missiles in the other guys face, first.
Being a necessary fighter doesn’t mean you have to go intercepting. Even the F-18 family can intercept but there’s no incoming bombers heading to the carriers at this point. The F-18E/F can handle or be capable it’s self being a A2A fighter. There’s no point of being a fighter than you have to intercept. It makes me wonder why such lunatics want a plane to be able to intercept or be a lunatic saying that it’s poor fighters or what ever is about.

The F-35 will be extremely agile fighter
I think this is quite amusing for alot of people. The F-35 isn’t a extremely agile fighter at this point. Tell me how is it much agile than the F-22 super hornet or a flanker? Really this is going to propaganda to amusement. I’d say the F-35 would be a agile fighter in Air shows while in combat its not going to be that 20% agile or as agile as you think. And it will be more amusing calling the F-35 the #1 best WVR aircraft just like many F-35 fanboys say on YouTube 😮
O another version of the YF-23 Blackwiddow that was down selected from the ATF program. Simply jaw dropping. This will be 100% far stealthier and 10% superior to the F-22. But isn’t the F/A-XX replacing the F-22? This is the World’s Only Invisible Airplane 😀
Dunno, Marine Nationale has the same deal with RAF btw. Oh and anecdotly he is the son of test pilot Pete Collins…Check PMs
K
There are also RAF pilots qualified on F18. In fact, one of them, Flight Ltt Collins is the first euro pilot training top gun course atm.
Yes He was selected after an internship which included a tour on USS John C. Stennis.
the U.S. Navy offered him the opportunity to be involved in NSAWC Fallon. For the last five years he has flown in the US Navy, being a partaker of an exchange programme the purpose of which is to allow the British aviators get used to aircraft carriers operating conditions.
Collins quoted this statment:
The U.S. and the Royal Navy have worked together very closely on the Joint Strike Fighter program. The ultimate aim is for us to get some experience flying a jet with very similar capabilities to that one. It’s a good trade, the U.S. gets a pilot out of it and the Royal Navy gets the experience.
I wonder how his experiance was when he flown the SH.
Hey Does anybody know how is the F-35 is truly better than a updated F-16 and could it even out-maneuver a F-16 or SU-27/35 in a close in fight?
We could call this a funny moment in TV. But RIP to those who died. And this name cracked me up “Ho Lee Fuk”

It will be interesting to see how you explain away on how successful the F-35 is when in enters full squadron service. The fact is all of the partner nations for the aircraft believe in it and are staying with the program. Really, the people that “have access” praise its capabilities. As a matter of fact the critics like you that don’t believe in the program “have no access”. So, hmm I should believe you or the best experts from such countries as US, UK, Canada, Japan, Italy, etc. etc. etc. These include people in the aerospace field from the Private Sector and the Military. Yet, the “Armchair Generals” want us to believe they’re all wrong….LOL
Argh, IK your going to be sitting on that chair waiting for people to say the F-35’s better. Huh?
I at least know that you and me are head to head on each other with capable aircrafts. It’s ok i’ll explain everything about what its good and what’s the bad. You’d be smart enough to see that ;). I actually like talking with a fanboy with another fanboy beacuse it’s soo fun. 😀 Much partners are staying exactly with the F-35 program. I think people do praise it’s capabilites but what if the F-35 fails to meet the requirements? I’m no critic how am i such a critic? I don’t work at the DoD. Hey, i think you should belive me and the country’s 😉
Super Hornet is over kill for Mexico. Really, in my opinion the F/A-50 would be the best solution……..
I guess that would’ve been my possible IMHO to get SH. But i agree that it’s too much capabiltes for Mexico. F/A-50 is good for a LCA to defend the Mexican airspace.
Sounding better by the day………..
I wish the Mexican Airforce could get some SH’s 😉 Our Airforce would be strong, but Mexico doesn’t have any enemies in the other region.
Such issues happen all the time during development. In addition this particular problem was minor and easily fixed. Yet, to the critics it was the end of the world. (typical) As for $200 Million if you believe that is the fly away cost your on medication. As this stage the price of the F-35 is dropping every production lot and gaining steam. From what I’ve read the price of the F-35 is going to be below such 4.5 Generation Fighters as the Typhoon and Rafale. Which, considering the vastly more capable F-35 that is a deal………….
Such issues should happen at testing. But the F-35 is completely suffering from almost everything in the testing margin. But it’s fine with it’s sensors and avionics. Some problems that are serious could take time to get fixed, on the F-35 its not really as easy. Just don’t belive the critics, but even look at the people they really make the F-35 program suffer alot. I feel bad for the F-35 fanboys out there, to bad the F-35 is an underrated plane. I think the F-35 could get the job done for now. However going against the Flanker from an F-35 is going to be a tough time in WVR. But let’s move on to your reply. I’m not on medication at some sort, but it is typically in the $200m category. Take the F-35C and look at its flyaway cost ($199.4m) you estimate it to ~$100 more and what you get? ~$200m same goes to all the F-35 models and the program. But how is the $100-200m going to lower like the 4.5th fighters? Remember the 5th Gen. aircraft is the gen with higher prices.
They tail hook issue was blown way out of proportion. As was many of the other development issues with regards to the F-35. Really, compare to previous fighter programs it’s doing extremely well. As a matter of fact it was very common to test aircraft to crash during testing. Even the YF-22 crashed at one point…………Let’s also not forget that the JSF Program is developing not one aircraft but “THREE”.
Well the Tail Hook issue was about testing the carrier requirements. It was reported that tail hook distance couldn’t meet the standard carrier landing requirements as other aircraft did. Another example of the F-35 not significantly landing on carriers was the Hook shape and hook size which was reckoned small. that’s beacuse it’s tail hook distance was 7.8m (from the short hook). Regardless that many aircraft programs are successfully done and go to production to enter service, while the F-35 is going to a mess with the delays and program costs. F-35 program is going to $200m dollars of costs.
I like the X-32 more than the F-35 IMHO. When was there a F-35 crash?
