Did you make up that name? I think it would be good for a restoration outfit! 😀

I have always liked the looks of the ultimate Fw190, the Ta152H – a good performer too.

I would agree about the 110 also. Maybe a bit of a turkey (apart from nightfighting), but an elegant aeroplane.

    Sweet..

I do like these tough-looking Russian fighters, this could get me up to Legends again.

The Japanese came up with the Mistubishi Ki109, which also packed a 75mm.

I do wish they’d put some dihedral on the wings of their CGI aircraft though! Same problem with the Andes Lancastrian story last year.
    A very interesting story though.

Wasn’t that a Skyraider story? If someone really did that in an F4, I’m impressed (at the recovery)!

It’s just jaw-dropping to think that this thing may well score a century..:o

    RE: Michael Bentine

Slightly o/t but as he was mentioned –
I believe he was a weapons expert and I have a vague memory of seeing a TV program with him in a room of popup targets with an Uzi.
Did anyone else ever see that or did I dream it up?

RE: Display Routines-Fast and Low or Lots of Aeros?

I appreciate the fatigue life issues, and I’m sure the BBMF aircraft will still be operating long after I’ve stopped.
The main reason I go to Legends is to see high performance flying machines doing just that, and their historical significance and the achievements of their crews I appreciate more through reading or visits to static museums – the gallery at Hendon dedicated to the VC recipients has moved me to tears, watching PA474 has never done that.

    Just a personal viewpoint.

RE: Display Routines-Fast and Low or Lots of Aeros?

This is a difficult one, but my 2p –

I like to see high performance aircraft flown energetically, but obviously within limits. That’s why I have found the BBMF displays I have seen dull, frankly.
The sort of thing I like – seeing a Sea Fury and a Bearcat hotrodding around the sky at Legends a few years ago (Mark Hanna and Stephen Grey I think) – wonderful stuff – I had to write and tell them so.

Republic XF12 Rainbow would look nice with your XF11.

How about a Bachem Natter? }>

Seriously, I would love to see the MB5. Is it REALLY gone? :'(

Surprising lack of reaction! Or does everyone think the report is a spoof?
A fantastic achievement and I’m looking forward to the pics!

RE: me109 in strange US markings

Not much help but I have seen it before, possibly in an old Profile. Something to do with an escape/defection, and I think not a Luftwaffe machine. All very vague memories though.
