    Hello Fellow Flyers,

    Only 18 days to go.

    Don’t forget our entry deadline;

    Friday 20th June, at 12.00

    More teams have signed up but still, anyone who wants to take part are more than welcome, however we have just been informed there are no more rooms available in the Pomme d’Or or the Merton.

    Don’t feel all is lost, please contact us and we will help you get accommodation in a good hotel in Jersey; we will always see if there are cancellations available at the 2 main hotels for the rally.

    If you can get firm accommodation yourselves, it might be advisable to book it yourselves and enter the Rally without the accommodation package.
    Try: http://www.jersey.com/English/accomm…s/default.aspx
    The programme (Hard Copy will be sent from Jersey to all entrants at the beginning of the week, last pieces of paper going into the envelopes now) and all other information, including the application form are available on our website;

    http://www.jerseyaeroclub.com/content/view/31/57/

    This is the first page for the Rally, click ‘Next’ and you will find most of the information you need.

    Don’t forget our Lunch in Deauville on Sunday 29th June;
    it is only €20 per person.
    Please make a confirmed booking with Eveline by Friday June 20, after this time we cannot get you in.

    Hope to see you all there soon, in 18 days.

    Jersey Air Rally 2008, still time to join us!

    Hello Fellow Aviators,

    An update of the rally.

    We have only 1 month to go, a full programme, many entries (30+) and a team that can’t wait to look after you!

    We have entries from England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, Belgium and Sweden, plus an attendee (not competing) from Indonesia.

    Why don’t we have entries from Holland, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark & Norway? Or more entries from countries already mentioned. Is it the challenge appears too tough?
    There are many prizes, so a good chance you could win. Even if not, you will most likely have one of the best weekends ever.

    If you want to attend but were not able to decide until now, all is not lost:
    There is still time to join; we can still get you into probably the best Rally in Northern Europe.

    For the full package (accommodation included) entries, unfortunately we cannot guarantee accommodation at the Pomme d’Or or the Merton any more; having said this, we will try our best to get you in.

    The programme (Hard Copy will be sent to all entrants first week of June) and all other information, including the application form are available on our website;

    http://www.jerseyaeroclub.com/content/view/31/57/

    This is the first page for the Rally, click ‘Next’ and you will find most of the information you need.

    Rally info update

    Hello fellow fliers,

    I have some interesting news for you all about the Rally:

    We have a new venue for the lunch on the last day, Sunday 29 June;

    Deauville

    We have the airport restaurant booked, but we need a pre-booking from you to ensure you have a seat/s, if you do not book we will have to release our reservation for you.

    Why not stop off at Deauville on the way home for Lunch?
    A welcome break, fuel top up and possibly a new entry in your log book.

    The reservations for the Pomme d’Or Hotel and Merton Hotel will be released by the 16th May after this time we cannot guarantee your room in either of these hotels.
    It is a busy time of the year on the island & rooms fill up quickly, accommodation cannot be guaranteed over a weekend.
    Please book this week to avoid disappointment.

    The competition this year will be a challenge, even for our regular competitors, as it will be starting overhead Flers (no customs available) and there will be a mystery point on the French Coast (Even I don’t know this one).
    Can’t wait!

    His Excellency Lieutenant General Andrew Ridgeway, the Governor of Jersey, will be the Guest of Honour at the presentation Gala Dinner.

    So far we have up to 26 entries with 18 confirmed, please do not leave it too late, we don’t want to disappoint you and, we would love to host you as one of 50 entries in the Rally.
    Impossible? We did it for the 50th (25 in the last 2 weeks), so why not again.

    Please look at our Website: http://www.jerseyaeroclub.com
    You will find information about our Rally, the charitable theme ‘Helping Hands’, the special ‘Ultimate High’ and the club in general.

    We will be featured in Flyer, so be sure to look out for us in this well read aviation magazine.

    Finally, a local company, Kandidprints, will be taking pictures on arrival and throughout the week end – look out for them.

    I now know I will be able to make it, look forward to seeing all of you there.

    Happy Landings.

    Update

    Hello Everyone,

    An update on the Rally.

    We have a brand new website for the Jersey Aero Club, it is good, if I do say so myself.

    On the website, promoting everything you need to know about getting to Jersey & the club, you will find details of this years rally:

    http://www.jerseyaeroclub.com/content/view/31/57/

    You will also find the link for the application form in pdf on this page:

    http://www.jerseyaeroclub.com/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,40/Itemid,/

    The Rally content is here:

    Welcome to the 2008 Jersey International Air Rally.

    After a year’s absence, the Jersey International Air Rally is back. We have decided to try to beat the weather and have changed the dates to – Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June 2008. This, hopefully, will mean that the weather will be perfect and will enable you to enjoy the week end in our beautiful island in company of fellow pilots and friends.

    Another change this year is choice – You will be able to choose from either the FULL rally package or the BASIC rally package.

    The FULL package (£220 per person) includes landing & facility fees, entry to all competitions, welcome drink & lunch on Friday, Friday night spectacular seafood buffet at the Pomme D’Or Hotel, Saturday morning car treasure hunt followed by Vin d’Honneur & lunch at the aero club, Saturday night gala dinner & dance. Your accommodation will be at the Pomme D’Or hotel with the offer of free accommodation for the Sunday night. Every aircraft will receive a souvenir plaque.

    The BASIC package (£90 per person) also includes landing & facility fees, entry to all competitions, welcome drink & lunch on Friday, Saturday morning car treasure hunt, Saturday night gala dinner & dance & souvenir plaque. But, you are free to choose your hotel (Jersey Tourism website – http://www.jersey.com) and of course join us for the Friday night and Saturday lunch. Those will have to be booked and paid for separately.

    Jersey Airport are generously waiving the landing fees and the Club will not be charging the facility fee, therefore we have been able to keep the cost of the rally down to a minimum to encourage pilots to join in the fun of the competition and take time to explore Jersey. Thank you to our sponsors.

    In recent years we have linked the Air Rally with a deserving cause. In 2005 with the help of rally competitors and JAC members, we raised enough money for a young Jersey student to complete her PPL. Emma Dalton is now well on her way to becoming a commercial pilot!

    This year our aim is different. We want to help young people less fortunate than us and hope to be able to offer a day’s flying and entertainment to those who otherwise may not be able to do so.

    To enable us to do this, we are raising funds in different ways.
    Winning envelopes – £5 each with a prize in each one.

    Auction – We will be holding an auction on the Saturday night gala dinner

    Donation – Any donations will be appreciated, whether a prize for the envelopes, a lot for the auction or a sum of money to be held in the Helping Hands account.

    We are very much looking forward to seeing you all in Jersey, whether seasoned competitors or brand new PPL’s.

    The application from can be downloaded from 2008 Rally Application Form (383.3 kB)

    Happy flying!

    The Rally Team.

    Hope to see you there.

    Happy Landings

    Update about the best Rally of the year

    😮 Hello fellow Pilots

    We now have a good number of entries, but there are a few places left.

    If you wish to join this established major event in the aviation calendar and stay at one of the best hotels on the beautiful Island of Jersey – Pomme d’Or – at the biggest steal of a price £195/per person for 3 nights (if you wish to stay for the extra free night on Sunday), enjoy 2 luxurious dinners, a BBQ at the club on Saturday, excellent lunch at the club on Friday, inclusive of landing fees, organized events and a worthy challenge to your excellent flying skills ——– sign up now!

    The normal price for the hotel B&B is £90 per person/per night plus £30.00 for each dinner plus a £15 landing fee for a PA28, a total of £327.50, saving £142.50 per person.
    This price does not include the Club events and the organization.

    To guarantee a place at the Pomme d’Or you must act quickly, we can only guarantee a place if you book by Sunday 16 April. A phone call will do this, with the form to follow.
    If you book later we will try to get you into the ‘Pomme’ but if we cannot we will put you into her sister hotel, The Merton.

    We have a live band for the Saturday night…..we had professional pilots playing for us last year ….this year it is Jersey Air Traffic Control’s turn.

    For those of you that like collecting and investing, this year’s souvenir is perfect; we have commissioned Jersey Pottery to make a limited edition China Plate to commemorate the 2006 International Rally, the design is excellent, even if I do say so myself.

    Anyone can attend a fly-in but a true pilot will subject the skills learnt to a test of knowledge, skill and judgement provided by this Rally.
    Don’t be intimidated, even the most inexperienced crew can win a trophy – the highest scoring low hours team (all qualified crew on board under 250hours total) gets a trophy & prize – all entrants are better airmen/airwomen after taking part in this Rally and have a ‘most excellent’ party over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

    Sign up now to avoid disappointment and have one of the best flying experiences in your life.

    Enjoy life and enjoy flying even more. See you at the Rally.

    We now have 40 entrants.

    There are only 30 days left until the rally, hope all the entrants are getting ready.

    As you know the accommodation for the Pomme d’Or is filling rapidly. If you register late we will try to get you in there, but if not you will be booked into a hotel as close to the Pomme as possible, of a similar standard.

    If you are undecided, what better way to spend the Spring Bank Holiday than visiting Jersey, France and taking home a trophy or two?
