Are the USN pilots so poorly trained or is it that F/A-18 is utter crap as some of u guys say that they need to be operated in good and clear weather conditions???
one of your most stupid posts..mid-air collisions have occurred a lot of times in the past too..you happen to forget the one in Sonmarg J&k, between 2 IAF Jags, also in very bad weather and both pilots were lost in that accident..the flight leader, a Wing Cmdr was reprimanded for that accident. how is the aircraft to be blamed for such an accident ?
My condolences to the bereaved families..:(
look at how Star49 likes to twist every news into anti-IAF propaganda..”IAF gripped by F-16 fear” !
so if the USAF comes to India and their pilots fly in IAF MiG-21 Bisons it shows that the USAF is gripped by MiG-21 Bison fear ? or that if they wanna fly the Su-30K/ exercise against it, it means that they are gripped by fear ? what a load of crap this guy/gal comes up with !
the IAF is being offered the F-16, so whats wrong with its pilots flying the aircraft and evaluating its capabilities ? the IAF has already been sending its pilots to the IDF for flying F-16s, they’ve flown F-16s in the US, and now to build better relations with the Thais, they have this exchange programme going..
French pilots rock !!! 😀
go to Bharat-Rakshak and check out the active aircraft galleries there. will find a lott of MiG-21 (different types) pics there.
I believe that structural work would be involved to increase the fleet hours..heavily stressed parts ought to be replaced and this would allow the upgraded Mirages to last a lot longer. makes no sense to sink too much money into a jet that wont have that many hours left in its airframe itself.
yes, Apaches too were part of the deal for the Qataris. that is something the IAF surely should’nt let go of..a standoff capability in terms of the Apache is sorely needed by the IAF to target high value **** targets.
no, missiles too have a shelf life. after a certain number of years, stored missiles would have to be tested. not just the landing, but high-g maneuvers cause fatigue to the missiles. But, if the MICA’s would be available for substantially cheaper prices, it would be good to go for them, otherwise the IAF could simply place the order with MBDA and then retrofit them on other IAF fighters too. maybe upgrade the remaining Mirages to carry the MICA as well, although Im not sure if the RDM/RDM7 could direct a MICA> can someone else throw some light on this ?
indeed, beautiful pics of a rather attractive looking beast.:)
am not quite sure about whether the IAF would like to purchase second hand missiles. unless the price difference makes it worth it. those missiles too have a shelf life, and if any of them have been carried on the Mirages, the fatigue factor would also be taken into account. But then since the platform itself would disappear, it doesnt make sense for teh Qataris to keep their stocks. So I guess that the IAF would pick up the missiles at a cheaper price..BDL already has an agreement with MBDA for manufacture of MICAs if the IAF ever does place a large enough order for them.
Somehow it seems that French can do business far better than Britons and Germans would. Well, plenty of good cheese and wine plus a twin-pack of beautiful escort girls rather than boring presentations seem to make a real difference with the customers! 😉
Oh, and you seem to forget Al Yamama ?! kickbacks are not native to only one particular nationality, whether you like it or not..so your statement (if you are alluding to kickbacks and favours provided) is just plain biased.
no need to put this useless stuff. dont try to compare one airforce to another. just the quantity and number of hrs that F-16 has flown in combat is far more than any sukhoi. thousands of sorties within weeks.
haar maan lee bacche ? your madrassa education dikha dee na ? if you cant argue back or realise you’re cornered, you claim this proof is useless. 😀 you’re soo pathetic ! 😀
Mirko, your nation collectively shat crap all this while thanks to the MKI and YOU gloat ?! 😀 your madrassa mentality and education rank among the best in the world my friend ! 😀
the F-16 is competent no doubt about that, but really speaking does not match up to the Mirage-2k-5 or the MKI. and whereas those numbers of a modern aircraft will be a deterrent, if the IAF really wants to go ahead, the F-16s would only delay the inevitable.
oh but then I forgot ! You’re the famed Star49, the magician who pulls facts out of his a**e and goes around disseminating them to others !
