Glad to see that she made it back on to terra firma with only minimal damage to her rear 🙂

I enjoyed reading this thread and hats off to all concerned who got her back down, although it’s a bit of a trek for me it’s made me want to visit NEAM when we have better weather, so when the summer months roll around I’ll see you there.

It’s on play.com’s web site, on page two of the search and is being re-released on 22/02/2010, it’s £10.99 on a pre-order price and £16.99 after release.

    hope this helps.

    Well Done All

I applaued you and the rest of the team for what is a fantastic job, she’s gorgeous 🙂
I only wish I lived closer so I could help out myself (sweeping up and making tea is about my limit though) 😀

Can’t wait to see her in the flesh.
ps if I ever win the lottery I’ll pay to get her back in the air 😉

    what a picture!!!

Hi newforest, in the box for the “quick code” type the word aircraft.
there’s also a mega photo of a TSR2 test flight along side a T5 and what looks like a Canberra 🙂
I have always loved the photo of george bailing out, very sad that it was another lightning lost but very happy that George Aird made it out alive!

maybe someone could get a group buy together if it’s available as a poster?

funny isn’t it, there are more people who’ve walked on the moon still alive than there are airworthy lightnings!

Brilliant news on the progress and the ever increasing stock of spares for her 🙂
keep up the good work and I’ve still got my finger’s croossed for the lottery win so I can pay to get her back in the big blue (maybe tonight will be the clincher :D)

    best wishes,

Hi there Blue, what’s the event and on what date is it taking place?

I’ve been trying to get back over for a while now but had shift changes at work which have made it difficult.
    ps how’s Lindy 😀

As a programme that set out from the start to rediscover the science behind the raid I thought it was pretty good, like some have already said it was a programme for entertainment purposes rather than a cold hard no vearing from the facts documentary.

The bit that got me the most was the part where Hugh Hunt got all emotional while sitting in the Lancaster, I found it quiet touching and it showed that even for all his calculations and working out the be all and end all of making it successful he understood the human side of it all and the sacrifice those lads made for all of us.
