The March diary report on progress with the Barracuda has been posted
More excellent work by the boys and girls of the Barracuda team.
seem to remember then that I was more interested in Sylvia Kristel than any plane……..
it’s a great shame that the Assault Glider Trust’s collection couldn’t have been kept together. With the ongoing retrenchment, contractorisation and sharing of support and trade training between the three services, it’s not beyond the realms of possiblity that additional hangars would become available at Cosford eventually
U2505,U3004 and U3506, all type XXI U-boats, still remain under the collapsed roof of the Elbe II submarine pens in Hamburg
Not sure what conclusion to draw – some aircraft, in particular the RAFM Lockheed Ventura have been in deep store at Cosford for decades.
I meant in terms of the liklihood of seeing the complete airframes on display in the not too distant future. I also thought the RAFM storage facilities at Cosford itself are pretty basic – and probably not conducive to the long term storage of a wooden airframe
Does the identity relate to the centre section of any airframe – I guess the rest can “just” be added around that?
Quick question.
How many late mark Griffon Spitfires have been converted back to the much more desirable Mk 5 or 9 series?
What? None? I wonder why……
Bruce
I thought Doug Arnold converted, or at least started converting, a Mk XIV into a Mk VIII?
For those of us who used to inhabit the forests in anoracks and bobble hats Graham Warner will also always be associated with The Chequered Flag Garage and with campaigning a privateer Lancia Stratos

blue skies and straight roads.
Interesting how much corrosion there is on the Horten Ho229 sections – despite being stored under cover for so long.
The Albacore is based on UK crash recoveries and has non-original wooden wings IIRC

I don’t think ‘The Tank Farm’ (Littlefield’s operation) was ever a public museum as such, but was open to pre-arranged groups for private tours
The gems from the Littlefield Collection are staying with the Collings Foundation with the rest being sold off to fund the development of a museum in Stow
Can’t wait 😀 Brian
Quilters probably feel the same about aeroplanes………..
I’m surpised there has been no comment on the plans for the GW building outlined in the new FP. These include the hanging of airframes…….
A case of yesterday’s news is today’s fish and chip paper?
Reading the CWH website -the Lancaster had a replacement wing centre section in 1952 from a combat veteran Lancaster . Out of interest which machine was this and where was it based in the U.K ?
Centre section from KB895, ex farm in Alberta.
[QUOTE=thedawnpatrol;2116130]Anyone need one of these for their Bomber restoration ?
