Both made by Fattorini the jewellers?
one presumably if you contributed to the fund, the other attached to the spinner, as per the Cosford Mk1 Spitfire
Are there any recent reports on the progress of this unique restoration?
Looking at the registration, I wonder whether it will have a blue stable-mate
Do you happen to know when are the tanks going and what is to become of the tank hall?
Moggy
Why would they want to get rid of the Land Warfare Hall and it’s exhibits – surely Land Warfare is fundamental to the remit of the Imperial War Museum – or are there structural problems with the Land Warfare Hall?
I wonder if the date of the posting is of any relevance 😉
Good to hear that some of the gaps might be addressed but the interwar period remains not very well represented.
Fury, Siskin and Gauntlet spring to mind although the opportunity for anything larger must be negligible
Always felt that Old Warden was a more appropriate home of the Hanriot anyway……

It would be good if they could pull together any remaining Siskin parts to do a similar job to that they have done on the Dolphin, which is truly stunning.
Perhaps some kind benefactor could fund the construction of another Snipe in New Zealand for the RAFM – after all the Snipe was the RAF’s first fighter.
Anybody else feel that the Camel should share space with it’s WW1 brethren, rather than hanging in the Millstone of Flight?

Sadsack -you can hardly tack on a upvc conservatory extension on the NWCM to house the Nimrod when he whole basis of the building was that it was groundbreaking!
Oh – I don’t know – it might actually add something…..

Have you noticed that the Hurricane behind the Lanc has an “M” serial? – so what would it be doing on an USAAF base?
Could it fly with an “M” serial?
The Stirling seems to have had the rear part of the canopy overpainted as well as having a “/G” suffix to the serial

As for fibreglass -the IWM is a museum -the preservation of fibreglass aircraft doesnt achieve anything within its remit.
which is presumably why they have a glassfibre Mustang in the AAM…..
