Here is the BC-2 or Baja California 2, this aircraft was used to fly from Mexicalli to mexico City by Roberto Fierro in 1928 in 15 hours and a non stop flight of 2,330Km .
Later on Roberto Fierro flew it from Mexico ciy to Habana, Cuba and Central America in 1928.
The aircraft was highly influenced by Lindbergh`s Ryan aircraft the Spirit of St. Louis
here we see the BC-1 this was built by Compañía Aeronáutica de Baja California, this company was stablished by Abelardo L. Rodríguez in 1927 in Tijuana, and built the BC-1 (Baja California 1) in 1928, it was sold to the mexican air force and used in action in 1929 against of the Escobar`s rebellion.
Here we see the Teziutlan built by Compañía Aeronáutica Roberto Fierro, five were built as a primary trainer for the FAM in 1941, they were built at the Talleres Generales de Aviación, however as WWII was going on the FAM decided to cancel the 50 planes it ordered and instead bought american planes.
It was designed by Antonio Sea, only five were ever built
Here we see the O-E-1 designed by Juan F. Azcárate in 1927 as a trainer for the FAM it was built in the TNCA`s workshops, it was used to fly around Mexico for the first time in 1928 by Gustavo León
here is the Celia also built by Lascurain
Interesting to see something different (for us in the UK) on the Forum – thanks for posting.
Presume the Aura was a small airliner – what engines did it have and how many passengers & crew?
Roger Smith.
To be honest every thing is new for me too, however i know it was a 200km/h aircraft, could take 14 passengers and and few were in order, its engines were Jacovs but after the death of Angel Lascurian it was cancelled
The Aura was the next project after the Salinas IV which you can see here.
but this also was an aircraft after the Celia and sport also built by Angel Lascurain.
In the picture you can see the Salinas IV wich had continental engines and flew in March 1940
The Salinas was a design by Angel Lascurain y Osio and Gustavo Salinas Camiña, the later only as an investor
HERE WE SEE THE AURA ANOTHER MEXICAN DESIGN BUT OF 1957 IN WHICH LASCURAIN LOST HIS LIFE AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF BUILDING AIRCRAFT, NAMED THE AURA IT WAS THE MOST ADVANCED DESIGN COMING FROM THE MEXICAN AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY EVER FOR ITS TIME FRAME AND ERA, ONLY ONE WAS BUILT, IT WAS LOST IN THE ACCIDENT THAT KILLED LASCURAIN
Interesting looking machine – it appears the whole top biplane and propellor arrangement rotate to provide the lift.
I wonder if the engine rotated with it and wether torque was a problem? And what would have driven it forward (or in any particular direction)?
Roger Smith.
the propellers rotated with the blades, here are a few more pictures, the villasana helicopter and a TNCA series H monoplane both built in mexico by villasana, the series H was built from 1916 and 1919, only 12 were ever built
here we have the Quetzatcoatl built in mexico as a recce and bomber built in 1923 by Lascurain a mexican designer
Well, firstly the Su-34 is evidently on sale for export.
PS. i think the Su-34 export version is an downgraded one!
And no one interested, cause of the prize tag, flight hour cost etc etc.
Instead they get the cheaper Su-30 with striker capability.Sooo why do you think anyone in say Asia are interesting in a ‘Striker Pak-Fa’ which by any standard will be even more costly over the current Su-34??
I could counter you with your own question, if you look 20-30+ year into the future who knowns.. but i just say what i think will happen.
The Su-34 is starting service from 2008 like you say, and will do its duty until its replaced.
How do you know it wont be replaced with a new non-stealthy design:confused:
Russia do not go the same way as US, in developing very costly Fighters/strikers.
With the exception of the Pak-Fa of cause, it will be quite expensive by Russian standard and hense me thinking it will only have a modest sucsess on the export market.EDIT: Upss.. i forgot the Su-34:) Its quite expensive by Russian standards too, and look how its done on export marked so far.
I don’t care if Mr. Pogo say the Pak-Fa will be very good in cost/development vs any competitors out there.
Do you get my point? The Su-35S is entering service in 2011 perhaps(first batch).
It will live on for another 20+ years.
What was that date of yours.. T-10 first flight 1977.
Lets say 2027+ for the Su-35S/34 retirement, thats 50 years in service for the design;)Nah, a Pak-Fa striker version as the Su-34.. No way!
Just my 2cent:)Thanks
Russia is getting betetr with each year, wealthier and more advanced, currently their economy is of the size of France but grows at a higher rate, certainly they will surpass England Germany in a decade and they are going to be able to buy better weaponry in order to recreate their sphere of influence in khazakhastan, Belarus and Ukraine beside India and middle east theya re planning very likely new aircraft to repalce the Su-34 and the most visible evidence is the new stealth bomber they are building
I made them in photoshop a while back. I have some more, but not much variation I’m afraid.:)

It was a little tricky turning this one into a single seater. 🙂
Copyright Gripen International. Katsuhiko TokunagaSorry for bombarding this thread with the Gripen.
Gripen is a beauty like its predecessor the Viggen, but the twin seaters of both aircraft are beautiful in my opinion, in my opinion only the F-18F looks better than the F-18A,C,E
So far this is the best thread of all of them where only information and no debates without sense are expose here keep doing this godd job TANGO III
Russian engineers are at least as good as American one. The laws of physics are the same on the both side.
The Americans need to justify importance of stealth because they spend billions of dollars for it. And they built some of the most costlier aircraft in history with new doctrine in mind.
But is stealth really useful if you are emitting radio signals (radar) to the environment ? Even in case of LPI radar, the opponent will sooner or later recognize those signal and conclude the must be one stealth fighter over there. And maybe shot an missile toward those signals …
Russian are more pragmatic in this are and their focus in designing fighters are on the maneuverability. I bet they will have much better air display with PAK-FA as F-22. At least less boring one.
However, the Americans will again claim that maneuvers are not useful in combat. As had they for Su-27.
each new aircraft is better than the rival`s old one the Americans will build a new aircraft that will beat the PAK FA, and the Russians will field something better later and so on, the F-15 was better than the MiG-25 but the SU-27 better than the F-15, the F-22 better than the Su-27 but the PAK fat might best the F-22 is simply the dynamics of the arms race the americans are even tinking in high energy weapons to be fit on F-22s.
She’s really ugly 🙂
well not so ugly but not a beauty
cut the cake any way you like, the eurocanards will never be in the same class as the f-22,35
I would not say that, first everything depends in radar and IRST capabilties and the target detectability, and computer power, the rest is engines, give that to a Eurofighter or Su-35 and i bet they will beat one day a so called 5 Gen fighter
