whether archers draw with the three fingers or two… not sure on that one to be honest. unfortunately with so many years, sometimes myth can become mixed up with the legend. but more than likely Id say 3 fingers, makes the drawing alot easier. where the two finger thing comes from im not sure, as im more modern history than medieval :S lol

I take it the Typhoon is a single seat aeroplane and with female operators they don`t need the second crew member.

and they say men are sexist…

So we give praise for every little thing she does? She signed up for the job just like everyone else, she deserves no more credit than the rest of the boys and girls out there. Even though female pilots have been on the frontline, in the air at least, for years? Where was the praise for the first Typhoon pilots? Not that I’m against it I just feel you keep praising everything thats done when theres no equality. She’s already had praise for being the first female typhoon pilot. Where do you put a stop that’s all I’m asking  (let the slating commence)

LOL Lincoln better put that Flak jacket and helmet on

Personally I’d say the Aeroplane and Helicopter were the most important. Without them, is it possible the world wouldn’t have the technology we have today?

Still without them I wouldn’t have a life haha

I’ll agree with you there creaking door. Even on University Challenge they usually ask only for the year at most or decade. Full dates as you said are only relevant to specific events. Like if you were researching say the first crusade and say the attack on Acre… lol

A-levels certainly have been devalued. How is it possible that only the brightest few took A-levels decades ago but now that half the school population take A-levels the average grade is much higher than in the past? Anybody who fails to appreciate the implication of that shouldn’t bother taking any Mathematics examinations…..they’d certainly fail!

You could then say the same for GCSE’s and Degree’s then. These days the vast majority have degrees and more and more are taking master’s just to get ahead. its going to get worse unless its stopped. The amount of people I know doing a degree and yet they have no clue of anything outside of what they are taught in the lectures and out of the books theyre told to read. My uni library didnt have one book on the Battle of Britain so i had to order a shed load of books from ebay as a reasult… go figure most important battle since trafalgar and waterloo and no books…

depends on the games really and internet depends on the child on it. Some only play fantasy games such as WoW etc. but I’ve found such games as flight simulator’s and Real time strategy games have a wealth of knowledge. Age of Empires and the total war series i find are great. With out age of empires Id have had no clue about the Aztecs. Suprised the teacher when myself and a few lads had to correct her on the pronounciation of places.

Internet wise If theyre researching its great but Ive found many use the internet for celebs again.

Btw this is just my opinion from what Ive seen. I hardly met a girl in uni that was interested in anything outside of heat magazine. Trying to start an intelligent conversation that didnt involve “take me out” or Big Brother was like trying to start a car under water :p
