Cheers David. I must have got confused somewhere. Look forward to seeing her at EK…. imagine a Mossie night time taxi!
how will she be moved? I didn’t think Mosquitos came apart too easy?
There’s already a fine gathering of aircraft. Maybe they can do something a bit more interesting than just line up more aircraft?
indeed decant the BOB Hall and replace the airframes with coffee shop seating and touch screens, I mean what else would you expect to see at the RAF Museum
Hendon has long lost its grandure and sense of occasion.
The entrance (before the milestones building) had a presence, the galleries were special.
Now a grotty cafe exists right in the middle of the helicopter display, lousy dumb signage hanging from the ceiling. (Cosford particularly bad at this) a third of Milestones is a wasted space. And now our finest hour dispersed. By the way the money paid for the sky dance sculpture has FIFA esq corruption written all over it!
Credit though I think the WW1 hangars are excellent as is Cold War at Cosford.
Its dumbed down and I half expect to see a giant ball pool at Hendon next time I visit.
IWM “branding” on N3200 so annoying
What really worries me is the IWM management believe the new catering supplier is the right thing for Duxford. Never seen such an ill judged placement. Still, some fantastic pubs in the area.
Tried The Engine Room today…. 0 out of 10
So you don’t think that IWM are paying the (not insubstantial) operating costs?
Wouldn’t have thought so given budgets etc. Even if they were what would be the advantage of putting your own name on it?
Either way its theres and they can do what they like with it
It was just my opinion. The nose ‘art’ had been added since Tuesday at Goodwood.
IWM are not a sponsor they were gifted it. All the other organisations are proactively and financially supportive. Aon, RR, Bremont etc.
I feel IWM have used it as a cheap branding exercise.

Hate the branding….[/QUOTE]
Totally agree, pointless, unnecessary and inaccurate. An insult to the team that restored this beautiful aeroplane. Get a grip IWM
Thought the IWM branding of ‘their’ MK1 distasteful
Lee & Alister do a fantastic job in displaying the OFMC aeroplanes in the Hanna tradition
I watched Paul Bonhomme display 434 in Malta last year – Stunning. One of the most memorable displays since Chailey and Biggin. We are so lucky to have so many gifted pilots to display these aeroplanes…

I remember going to a talk by Clive Denney before the event and saying that they were careful not to distract fund raising in Malta away from the activity for the Hangar.
Great memories…I bought the DVD, the Corgi set and the Print! Oh and a few Polo SHirts and patches! Great Times…
it was! The DVD is a great reminder but it doesn’t capture the atmosphere among the people (thousands!) that turned out to watch…. It was like nothing else I have ever witnessed (Warbird – like!)
Ive been every year since 2005 as a visitor, I never get tired and everytime a take a different book and find out something new and different…Its ashame the Maltese Authorities seem very disintrested in this years Spitfire:(
stood not too far from you! 🙂
I think the whole MoM project drew support from all areas and done wonders for tourism that year…. i couldn’t get a hotel room that week! 😀
Shame this seems to have gone totally un noticed…even the facebook post propted virtually no response….
