XN923, Dan, lauriebe,Chad Veich & Easy Tiger!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 🙂 I am now slightly more enlightened, one of the great things I enjoy on this forum is getting your questions answered!
😀
Thanks Easy Tiger,
I wasn’t too sure on that engine, It didn’t look big enough to be a Griffon, the 4 blade prop threw me a bit too. 😮
Certainly a fascinating looking aeroplane. be great to see her up and about during 2006.
Any news on a paint scheme yet?
Wow! Congratulations to her owners and those involved.
Forgive my ignorance but what Mark of ‘Spitfire’ is this Seafire most closley linked too? I’m assuming thats a Merlin?
Im not too up on Seafires 😮 Apologies.
Well said Mike. Anna
I agree, Obviously Ray was famous for his low level stuff but that was only one ingredient which made his displays so special. The complete display was just first class in every aspect.
Agree with your point about the Brietlings. We’ll never see their likes again.
I do hope 434 is busy next year during Spitfires 70th commemorations. Shes a very special aeroplane and Ray and Mark are big parts of 434’s history. long may she fly. I often stop and chat to the OFMC Tiger Squadron crew who all seem great people, i’m sure they’ll keep her going. 🙂
Seems to be taking shape very quickly…….might be ready before Airspace!
Nice little collection building up at North Weald. Seems an odd aquisition for TFC?
Best thing is that they are both staying in the UK.
followed by Lee Proudfoot flying Ray’s Spitfire
Lee Proudfoot, great guy and a superb pilot, lets hope we can se Lee and 434 for many years to come.
God Bless Ray,
I recieved my Merlins Over Malta limited release Corgi set today and just wanted to Thank the Merlins Over Malta crew. Its absolutly FANTASTIC!
The models are superb and a wonderful momento of Septembers events, I absolutly love it. I must confess to being a bit sceptical at the £99 price tag however on seeing the presentation and the Certificate which has actually been signed by Billy Drake Geoff Wellum, Harry Moon and Cyril Bamberger, well it s just perfect. (I did think that the signatures were going to be photocopies! 😮 )
Well done and thank you!
Wow! Brilliant stuff, Well done to all those involved! 😎
God help us…. 🙁 Love triangles and stoopid CGI……..I’d be delighted to be proved wrong!
The Brietling Fighters truely were amazing. In my opinion the best airshow display team I have ever seen. Sadly the Brietling Jets don’t quite have the same magic.
Having seen the Brietlings many times over the years I certainly look back with fond memories. I never use to photograph them because I wanted to ‘watch’ the display, and not from behing a viewfinder.
So thank you to all those who have posted pictures, and come on Brietling “Bring Back The Fighters!”
I was about to arrange for Flowers to go to Hanger 3 at Duxford, however im a bit worried if this is not appropiate or IWM won’t place them 🙁
Any help or advice appreciated 😮
“Gone to show God how to fly a Spitfire!”
God Bless Ray.
No doubt straight into God’s starting 11!
God Bless George
