    Its an interesting one. Talking to the people on the Merlins stand they were saying that paint was applied with ‘yard brushes’ and was indeed likely to be a US Blue which would have been watered down or even diluted with other colours such as grey/black, Fascinating stuff

    I thought the Chipmunk display was brilliant. Well done to the pilot.

    Although I was dissapointed that no flying took place I still had a good day. Those Spitfires and Hurricanes sounded beautiful 🙂

    Good Luck to you guys this truely is a wonderful tribute to those veterans. I had the pleasure to talk to a couple of members of the team on Sunday and I cant believe the effort and commitment put in!

    Ive bought the Corgi set (Looks Fab! 😎 ) The T-Shirt, the badge, the print, the dvd and the book!!!! 😀 Cant wait to get out there

    I think there is your problem……..If I get stopped one more time by someone asking “Can I talk to you about Airspace?” In a patronising manor I will scream……. I think the Agenda for IWM is how we can nail the punters for as much money to pay for Airspace Hanger 😡

    Double that if you’re doing both days like I am. Legends I don’t mind paying a small fortune for, IMHO its worth it, but this show and the other two IWM organised shows aren’t good value for money.

    Wow …so your talkin cica £200 for yer weekend……

    PLUS SHOPPING! 😀

    The thing is in the grande scheme of days out, Football/Theme Parks etc it does stand up…… 😮

    Its not dear but then its not really great value either…..not sure of my view on this…… :confused: Oh well 🙂

    So let me get this straight….

    £23 pound to get in

    £5 for a programme then….

    £4 to walk down the flight line

    £5 to sit down on a plastic chair to watch the show…..

    £37 so far…… 🙁 Fuel costs to get there possibly £20-£30 on average then £5.00 for a bacon roll and a coffee (Breakfast) then possibly another £5 for lunch

    …..and this is without running the gauntlet of traders!!! 😮

    £67 minimum for me to go watch an Airshow. Assuming you may buy something too your fast approaching £100….

    Interesting 🙂

    I suppose they gotta pay for that hanger somehow 😀

    Any way….Heres for a great weekend and safe flying and a salute to those who gave so much!

    Wow…That looks awesome! Can not wait to get my paws on that collectors set…..Having just read First Light by Geoffrey Wellum too…..Best £99 ive ever spent….might have to do another set 😮

    Remember though there are two sets available – The collectors set at £99.00 with Signatures; Gatefold Certificate; Fabric and Special Box Artwork and also Corgi are doing a Standard set release in their Legends range priced at £39.00

    We are still hoping we might get both sets for this weekend, so we can display both at the Merlins Marquee.

    Been looking at USS Wasp Spitfires in some books. Its an Interesting and yet little known (for me anyway 😮 ) episode in the Spitfires history Fascinating thing is that they were not Seafires and many had Trop Filters and Extra Fuel Tanks!. Well done to the Merlins Over Malta team for taking the opportunity to bring us something quite unique. 🙂
