    Simply stunning!

    What more can you say…..

Having friends and relatives caught up in last weeks terrible events in London seeing BBMF fly over Buckingham Palace dropping the poppies warmed my heart and filled me with emense pride. (and a tear)

    Thank you to all….

I was their today and the Merlins Over Malta Corgi set looks fantastic…. Looks like the Spitfire will be repianted in a USS Wasp scheme, dark blue. with U-2 serial codes…..Exclellent!

Maybe the most in the air together in Europe, but go to the US and thats small fry, saw 100 together at Wings over Houston in 2001, everything from L5’s to Fifi.

Yeah fair point…but flown from a ‘very historic’ airfield! :p Only kidding, I’d love to go to the US to see some of their shows! They look awesome!

My tears are caused by the cost of the beer and burgers and the lump in the throat is the burger getting stuck.

Seriously though whilst I thoroughly enjoy the show I can’t get boiled up about it weeks and weeks in advance. I will be there on Friday and Sunday, take thousands of pics and if I can find my way past the goats, have a laugh with the Forumites, but it doesn’t start for me until I get there.

Why not break with tradition and come in and say hello. Mind you don’t expect a conversation with anyone with a camera between 2pm and 5:30. 🙂

Bring your own food and chew yer food properly! 😀

Ok so it doesn’t float everyones boat? My fave show of the year 😮 Each to their own I guess

    🙂

Where else can you see 30-40 Historic ‘Warbirds’ fly in formation together at the same time….Ive been going for 9 years and every time it puts a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat.

Can’t explain why but all the history, not only the aeroplanes but the pilots, crew and the stories of bravery and valour which its like we will never see again.

    Bring it on!!!

Not really sure, Diecast aviation forum does not detail the actual schemes. The Hurricane is in a Malta Squadron but the Spitfire is Polish…. I wonder if it will be repainted for the trip??? Suppose we’ll find out on Saturday! Ive ordered my set! 🙂

Guys, lets turn off the rumour mill this year please last year kinda spoilt it a bit lets see if we can be surprised ok?

Legends has built up a great reputation in recent years and the ‘suprises’ form part of the build up! No other show carries a sense of anticipation and occasion as this one…Im sure Friday night none of us will get a wink of sleep! Not felt like that since I was a kid on Christmas Eve. Last year I was up to 3:40 am watching previous years Legends on DVD and Video! 😮

Even if no Suprises turn up to see this classic gathering of Warbirds is a real privilage and those who organise this event, in my book are beyond reproach!

Only 6 sleeps to go!!!! 😀

I seem to recall around the time of the first Gulf War, plans were in place that if RAF losses were high then ‘leased’ American F16’s were available

Very True, I think I understood Civillian operated aeroplanes, anywho….it would be fantastic if these rules were relaxed for one day! 🙂
