Some new images of rather rare stuff. The FROGFOOT is said to be a Su-25KM “Scorpion”.
Colombian Army SIGINT Super King Air B250
I never heard of a B250. Shouldn’t that be B200 or B350?
Ladies and Gentlemen… Syrian Mi-14 Haze again… this time in Ukraine…:)
Left picture shows the Mi-14PS (SAR), right picture the Mi-14PL (ASW).
Russia does not operate any Su-30MKs.
Thanks. Maybe I should have written “future Su-30MKR” and “will be made” 😮
There are two flavours of current, tandem two-seat Flankers – Su-30MK’s.
The IAPO Su-30MK’s have foreign avionics, canards, Thrust Vectoring Control (TVC) engines and extended chord rudders.
The KnAAPO Su-30MK’s have mainly Russian avionics (with reportedly some Chineses content), they have no canards, no TVC but have taller, square-tipped ‘wet’ fins.
Very interesting post Ken! I presume that the Su-30MKR for the Russian air forces is made by KnAAPO then? I understand that it will be similar to IAPO’s Su-30MKI though…
Su-30MK2 for China
Shouldn’t that be Su-30MKK2?
Now, Syrian Mi-8PP electronic warfare variant. Note the “box” on the left. Unfortunatelly the image not show the whole helicopter.
Nice find Stratosaurus. Note however that this is a Mi-17 based variant, probably the Mi-17PP or -PPA.
Moldovan MiG-29
Speaking of new Fulcrum camo, here’s a moldovan with the new camo – unfortunatly only a tail shot:

Side view:
It’s an advertisement for the Russian Ministry of Defence’s own public TV channel ‘TV KANAL ZVEZDA’ (TV Channel STAR) – a sort of broadcast version of the ‘Krasnaya Zvezda’ newspaper, aiming to provide more patriotic material for the discerning Russian viewer. Stuff like ‘3 Tankmen and a Dog’ and ‘Stirlitz’ I guess, along with lots of cool footage of S-400s launching and T-90s splashing through mud, etc, but I’ve never tuned in, here in Moscow, so I’m not sure what it’s like?
It’s worth watching if you’re interested in military stuff. When I was in St Petersburg last September I watched it every day since they showed footages of the Peace Mission 2007 exercise.
Another try
Belgium Formally retires Magisters
Today, the Belgian Defence/air component (Comopsair) says goodbye to the last military Fouga operational in the world,
Was the Belgian air component really the last military user of the Magister?? What about Israel, El Salvador, Algeria, Morocco, Togo and Senegal, to name but a few?

Thanks Hendrik and Googler. I knew about the other two users already. Some sources state that Brunei also got 4 but maybe thay was a mix-up with Hawai.
Haitian AF S211
How many do they have? And where are they comming from?
I asked them how many Tu-160’s were in service – and I was met with just a few smiles.:D
Strange – the aviation media in Russia constantly give the numbers. It’s all publically available on START MOUs as it is – the number is 16 now, IIRC. I guess they’re just traditionally secretive. Or there’s 84 other Tu-160s hidden in a huge underground airbase somewhere ….
They’re indeed traditionally secretive, especially in air and AD units. I have often contact with Russian and other CIS military personel and many haven’t realized that the Cold War is over for some 15 years now (NATO = enemy, sort of)… Also, people in the units in general don’t know what kind of info is already available in open sources.
[QUOTE=Vympel;1157860]Really? How can you tell?[QUOTE]
I can’t :p but it’s stated on some websites including Stryzhi. And Jane’s says “The second development Russian MiG-31BM was on display at the 2007 Moscow Air Show.” I guess few people realized because I could find only a couple of images of this A/C while tons of photographs were made of the other displayed types.
MiG-31 “Blue 60” is the upgraded MiG-31BM.
