Well, the Soviets are no longer here 😉
Well, back then they still existed so that’s what I call them 😉
I’m just saying that it’s apparently very well possible to turn a Tu-160 into a Wild Weasel platform. The fact that the Russians (!) only have 15 left of them is a different issue.
“Wild Weasel” Blackjack….Yeah, right:D
I read somewhere that the Soviets at some point had plans to develop specialised versions of the BLACKJACK, including a Tu-160R and – indeed – a Tu-160P.

Very nice! Does someone have close-ups of Georgian L-39C?
Sorry both of you guys..
But this one is the best!!!http://aviakon.com.ua/admin/tools/gallery/albums/album-4/hr/
Very nice indeed! Anyone knows who will be the purchaser of the yellow-and-black Mi-24V in mi24_g1 and _g3?
Production of MiG-31B and conversion to MiG-31BS started in 1988, and im presuming that a lot of aircraft were produced/converted till 1993 (when economy collapsed).
Is there an external difference between the original model and the MiG-31B? As you wrote, Russian aircraft are probably all B/BS, but Kazakhstan operates both types.
The first two BO-105CBS were delivered recently and a third one is expected soon. At this moment they still don’t cary any Albanian markings.
Wow, what a response 🙁 Apparently I’m the only one who was excited to see the new Albanian BO-105’s…
hi guys
Just wondering what the latest is about the Albanian AF its been a while since i visited. Arent the B0-105s due to arrive soon?!

Belarus
On April 14th, the Belorussian air and air defence forces held an excercise during which a highway was used for take-off and landing operations. Participating units were 181 Attack Helicopter Base (Mi-24), 206 CAS Base (Su-25) and 927 Interceptor Base (MiG-29).
Thanks for that pic, however, Im sure it isnt PPA. Can somebody ID the type?
The Mi-8PPA is a Mi-8 based EW platform. This one appears to be a Mi-17S.
Of course
Photos of Lithuanian L-39ZA (#05 and 06) are pretty common on airliners.net, jetphotos.net, etc. But Lithuanian L-39C inherited from the former USSR are quite rare, I just found 02. Would anyone have serials 01 and 03?
I only have L-39C “04”.
Azerbaijan bought from Ukraine several Mig-29 (9-13 version) with 2 UB versions. Planes were modernized (new navigation system) at Lvov.
I guess this answers my question.
Does someone know more about the status of the MiG-29BT? I heard that Azerbaijan purchased a small number. Picture anyone?
L159T1 and L159B
Could someone enlighten me please? First the two-seater was called L 159T. Then it was renamed into L 159B. And now there’s an L 159T1?
Anyway, what variant is the Mi-24K? The difference I see is in the optical sensor on the starboard side of the nose, modified lateral door, no ramps for AT-6 – what is it? What is it’s role?
The “korektirovchik” is used by forward observers. On the right side of the cabine there is a huge fire correction camera A-87PB, behind the longish forward window.
Armenian Mi-24K
Just noticed that my favourite thread moved to page 2; time for action! 😀
Thanks, Calimero. Now I know for sure that`s an ex Romanian helicopter. It belonged to Romavia. Some years back (2-3) they were sold to Moldova, 3 Mi-8PS and 1 Mi-8T.
Sorry, I screwed up. That Mi-8PS “ER-MGJ” is indeed not Azeri but Moldovan. 17101 and 17102 are Azeri though.
