:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D What a great news I almost fell from my chair !!!
I just had a thought, the UK has already paid for 3 F 35 B the first been delivered last year IIRC. Well there you go ! Interim solution problem solved :diablo: !!!
PS: It was a US general who predicted I think that in the Future the Air force, navy and marine would share a single aircraft aint it ?!! The UK will have 3 so not so bad !!!:D
Well at the end of the day, the RN is screwed…
@raptor2019: Thanks for info, but Do provide a link when you copy/paste
Hi there good morning, click on the picture for the link š
Wonder how effective a goalkeeper would be against these… :diablo:
You forget secret laser weapons been developed by China after hacking of US and European defence industries :p !
The Russian aerospace firm refrained from making any official comment over the possibility of competing in the FX-III, through which Korea wants to purchase 60 high-end aircraft with stealth capability in October this year.
News for a few years time after much debate and trials, the F 35 as won the competition due to unknown and unclear reason !
LM started the F 35 development like a western movie with cow boy shooting their way through the main high street and drinking cola… Now that they’ve hit reality nobody knows the timetable for the F 35, except that it doesn’t look too good with each passing year. The political support is starting to fade, voices for alternatives are getting stronger… And they still have a long road to go to make the plane operational.
Unfortunately Boeing isn’t proposing anything new, the silent eagle isn’t doing much progress, and it’s too late to cancel and launch a new program. So the US will export F 35 variant, Europe will start to seriously struggle when the F 35 come on-line to export the Typhoon (they will have to chose to support politicly one or the other and nobody wants to angry USA), France will do what France has always done, and Russia, China and India will likely start to win major share of the world market for affordable fighter aircraft…
Oh and remember originally the JSF was supposed to be operational between 2012 and 2015 for the latest !:o
It depends on export, and how many current customer of the Gripen will be interested by the NG. The Gripen NG is the more credible replacement for the F 16, and the more expansive the F 35 becomes, the easier it gets for the Gripen.
According to the French, the 18 Rafales would largely do the work of 22 Gripen. “That’s right,” says a senior Swiss on condition of anonymity. The module that had evaluated the ability of each manufacturer to maintain over time various types of mission, says he arrived at a ratio of 3 Rafales or 3 Eurofighters for 5 Gripen .
Perhaps the IAF came to the same conclusion…
Now what you guys think of this !
A f 18 g/h is more likely š® …
If LM get its way the only thing the US will be able to export from 2025 onward is the F 35… So I guess any nation buying US will sooner or later buy the F 35 at some point, even a water down version.
With the LCA slowly coming up, and the M2k been upgraded, what exactly does the Gripen (even in the NG variant) bring to the table ?
They could buy more Su 30, ask western companies to help give a serious boost to Tejas buying Thales electronics for the first Tranche for exemple so that they could have a potent aircraft by 2015. Then buy UAE and Greece’s M2k for a quick replacement of all the Mig they keep losing…
PS : Rumour had it that they should declare a winner before the end of the week. Now I swear if I hit the refresh button one more time on livefist Iām going to die!
