I think, it is impossibly to find particular Thai F8F without the knowledge of it’s Thai board number – it seems, Thai Bearcats had not US BuNos and serial numbers, painted on them:

    – in this link, on opened page, You must click the title “BKh-15 Grumman F8F-1/-1B Bearcat” in left hand menu (in “Fighters” chapter). New page will be open, with many profiles and photos of Thai F8Fs.

    Dear T-21 !

    Look here, please:
    http://books.google.ru/books?id=nCGF2rnDif8C&pg=PA171&lpg=PA171&dq=mariner+%22cs-thb%22&source=bl&ots=FvZm3ZRSyP&sig=_P3vU7Et1Q_EDyPN_AUWpruC020&hl=ru&ei=o31uTc-mEcOYOs_FtIsD&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=5&ved=0CEYQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q=mariner%20%22cs-thb%22&f=false

Here is preview of book “The fighting flying boat: a history of the Martin PBM Mariner”. You can’t see all photos from this book there, but You can read some text about Portuguese Mariners CS-THA and CS-THB (except some pages), and even see the photo of their interior ! Look through Chapter Eight “Commercial Mariners” (p. 152 – 171).

I think, the pages not shown (p. 161 – 164, 168) could to contain one or several images of Portuguese PBMs. You can try to buy this book somewhere…

Yes, mr Gkozak, this “Noratlas” carries the flag of People Mozambique state, and not colonial Mozambique. It is obviously, that was Mozambique “Noratlas”.
Let’s wait for detailed info from Charlie Golf.

It will be interesting to see Angolan and Mozambique “Noratlas” planes.
I read in one article, that at first time Angolan “Noratlas” flied still with Portugal markings.

It would be great to make some photos there. Kuwaiti DC-3, Whirlwind and Jet Provost are especially interesting because their rarity, and because almost total absence of their images in different sources.

Sounds good, dear l.garey ! I shall hope (with impatience) to see any photos…

See there are a few Halifax, Short Sealands and other interesting stuff there as well…I wonder if there are any overgrown aircraft scrapyards there ???

Yes, Pakistani aviation had some real gems in it’s inventory.
I should like to see their Percival Proctor, Piper L-4 Grasshopper, Avro Anson, Stinson L-5 Sentinel, Lancastrian, DHC Chipmunk aircrafts (and Lancaster, of course).

    Let’s wait.

Iranian T-6 in very unusual markings, on display at the Aerospace Exhibition Center, Mehrabad International Airport, Tehran. Note the modified fin/rudder and tail wheel, as well. Either that, or it may be the tail section from some other sort of aircraft!

    Besides, it has no engine:

    http://www.michaelprophet.com/News_articles/images_IranAviation/9.JPG

Also note – on image in Gkozak’s post T-6 have not-broken glass in cockpit forward part; and on this image some glass is broken.
And the plane was painted by man, which absolutely understood nothing in aviation. This painter wanted only one – to paint the plane most brightly, and – in his opinion – it is attractive. It is not real Iranian colour scheme.

In their museum are more “unusually painted” aircrafts. For example, A-26B Invader (44-34759, former US-registered N956R). Sometimes it looked like this (airliners.net):

    http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/middle/2/1/5/1618512.jpg

and sometimes it looked like this (michaelprophet.com):

    http://www.michaelprophet.com/News_articles/images_IranAviation/11.JPG

Note national Iranian colours on it’s rudder !!!

Also note another colour scheme of aircraft.
(Although all of us know well, that Iranian Air Forces did not use any Invader, anytime).

It looks as if they paint planes as it is pleasant to them, without any authenticity – “THEY MUST BE PAINTED – AND PAINTED ANYWAY !”:D

Well, friends, we have a good discussion now.

So, SA-DAE Caravelle is mistake only…:(

But imagine, as this plane in the Saudi livery would be beautiful !

However, if it was truth – many photographers would make its pictures…
No – it is typo only.

Thank You all for the participation in this thread.

    SAFAT 03

With maintenance and other such indirect assistance from China, of course.

    Dear sir Gkozak !

Also note, please – in video about SAFAT 03 from my links, during time 1:11 – 1:13, the narrator says about “…work done by Chinese and Russian partners…”.
The full text of this reporting (with phrase about Chinese and Russian partners in last paragraphs) is here:
