Perhaps this word is more accurate: Jews – tricky

So you’ve generalized a character trait to an entire race of people.

I’d try to explain what’s wrong with that but I doubt you’d get it. It may be the 21st century but apparently neo-facism is still thriving.

I think Pierre Sprey is going to be right. There won’t be more than 500 F-35’s built.

I think Pierre Sprey is the loon that he’s always sounded like. There will be more than 500 F-35s delivered by 2020.

There is another factor. Let it be called “fighting spirit”.
German officers during the Second World War estimated it as follows:
    1. Russian
    2. Germans
    3. Englishmen
    4. Americans

Everyone knows that Arabs are bad soldiers. And the Jews are cunning and clever

Is this meant to be satirical? Jews are cunning..?

They (AU-1, AU-2) are both training aircraft from LRIP 6. Production on the two types started in 2012. They could have dispatched a couple of aircraft from the USAF’s operational squadrons but they wouldn’t have had the symbolic appeal of RAAF roundels.

LRIP-10 includes eight Australian aircraft but delivery on those will only begin in 2018.

I changed my mind after studying the situation. Today is also possible annexation by Russia. If Finland decides to join NATO. The second largest Russian city 150 km away from NATO – it’s impossible.

May I also suggest studying a map in addition to studying the situation. The second largest Russian city is already 150 km from NATO and has been since 2004.

It does not predate Nazis many years as they alone have adopted the insignia roughly in that time (symbol for Aryan race, 1920, I think).. the use of hook cross by states like Latvia or Finland is always excused in style “but oh, this is the sacred symbol of auspiciousness and has nothing to do with Nazis, whatsoever” but the fact is that all the states having used it have later aided Nazis in the WWII in one way or another.. An accident? You tell me..

Is it a coincidence that this is a WHITE cow? I think not.

CATOBAR has no advantages for our Carrier Strike mission.

Longer range (+150 nm combat radius). Internal carriage of anti-ship/anti-radiation missiles. E-2 support.

STOVL deck qualifications are far easier than for either arrested recovery technique. Even SRL techniques….only essential under specific bringback weight conditions….are greatly simplified compared to a standard trap. Its been proven that STOVL pilots with no deck time whatsoever have been able to land on the smaller CVS deck. It would be considered poor form if a pilot was able to miss the roughly 4 acre deck of a QE whilst hovering over it.

With the Delta Flight Path, carrier landings have been greatly simplified as well.

F-35’s New Landing Technology May Simplify Carrier Operations

The dozen instructors with the squadron each completed the required 10 traps and two touch-and-go maneuvers in less than two days. But thanks to an advanced landing system in the fifth-generation aircraft that limits the variables pilots need to monitor when they catch the wire, officers with the squadron said they could have gotten the practice they needed in much less time.

“What has traditionally been required for initial qualifications … that can probably be reduced, because the task becomes mundane after a while,” said Lt. Cmdr. Daniel Kitts, officer in charge of the testing detachment aboard this ship. “You can make corrections so easily.”
    .
    .
Cleveland said this new technology might enable the Navy to cut ashore training from 16 to 18 field carrier landing practices to between four and six. He said he also envisioned cutting carrier qualification requirements from ten to six traps in the future.

“That’s going to save money, that’s going to save fuel, that’s going to save aircraft life, basically,” he said.

Serious question, can the F-35C with its ~32 tons maximum weight be operated in combat configuration from the Charles De Gaulle? Its quite a bit heavier than the Rafale and the Hawkeye.

Sure. But in practice its unlikely to ever be launched at MTOW.

    15.7 tons empty + 10 tons fuel + 6 x 250 kg PGM + 4 x 150 kg AAM ~ 27.5 tons.

Given that launch weight for a fully fueled E-2C is about 25.5 tons, there should be enough margin for a F-35C launch.

What’s the timeline for the integration of the Spice 250? Should have no problems handling a moving target.

The C would have enabled crossdecking with the French CdG. And would have enabled a clear CATOBAR-path for the FCAS. And also a proper surveillance/early warning capability via the E-2D.

Given the emphasis on Anglo-French military cooperation, it’d certainly be more valuable than collaboration with the USMC.

Could have been a useful cost saving measure. The French could have ordered another squadron of Rafale Ms, enabling the Brits with their two carriers to manage with a slightly smaller air component.

apparently payload is ~7.2 tonnes, which is over 2 tonnes, or over 40% more than your ‘findings’
    https://twitter.com/GripenNews/status/833921901063921665/photo/1

That ‘payload’ probably includes standard equipment – gun, EW equipment etc (stuff also included in the empty weight). Saab is basically fudging the figures for benefit of the gullible.

    MTOW – 17 tons
    Empty Weight – 8 tons
Max. internal fuel – 3.4 tons

    (^All from official Saab literature)

Net effective max. payload – 5.6 tons

Which has absolutely ZERO to do with F-22/35 LPI and if it’s effective vs the Su-35 (you know, the discussion at hand).

Why engage JSR? He’s a troll, doing what trolls do. You know it, I know it.. its pretty much the only thing that all Keypubbers agree on. Why not ignore him? It serves his purpose everytime his posts are quoted, even if they’re being refuted, thus preventing everyone else from ignoring him.

Main issues remains the costs and timelines. The USAF is warning against speeding up the acquisition until after 2021 when block 4 wil hopefully be ready

Which begs the question, why wouldn’t it be more prudent, at that point, to defer the acquisition ramp up to Block 5, thus saving the taxpayer a substantial sum.

There may be a real argument somewhere in there – cost savings v. volume, F-15/F-16 retirement schedule, nature of upgrades, etc. – but its not evident from Gen Harris’ testimony.

Trump is clearly something of a buffoon in many senses, but the idea that he just kind of bungled through life and ended up a multi-billionare with a world famous brand, a successful game-show host, and yes… president. Not a chance.

I’m no high flying Brioni-clad business tycoon but buying three casinos in Atlantic City and then making them compete against each other (until they went belly up) doesn’t sound a great idea. Just a layman’s perspective.

As for his net worth, I’m sure his tax records would have shone a light on that.

It may well take too long to upgrade a significant number of planes with block 3F at the current snail pace. This could be serious business, I am talking about the possibility of a WAR. I have a bad feeling about that.

Its a software upgrade; it’ll take a couple of hours. An interim software build isn’t going to be any faster to patch on release.
