I went to an Ariane 4 lauch in French Guiana once. Managed to stand 2.5Km’s away. The countdown is the strangest part, it really builds the tension up, and you don’t know what to expect.

Then the who sky lights up, the roaring sound only comes a few seconds later which seem weird and then very loud.

I would have really liked to have been around to see a Saturn V booster take-off, those were really impressive.

Agreed about the older Cure being better, Arthur. Ive just brought the Trilogy DVD with Pornography, Disintergration and Bloodflowers live on it.

Killing Joke are good, I’ve got the CD with Sanity and Wintergardens, but I can’t remember what is called. It is one of my favourites.

I’ve been trying to get into some newer music. Apoptygma Bezerk and Flaming lips seem to be going down well..

God’s own Medicine, Children and Grain of Sand are the three best Mission albums, by my judgement.

Hussey was the Sister’s guitarist on First Last and Always. He wrote many of the best Sisters songs as well, at that time.

Before that Hussey was in Dead or Alive (you spin me round like a record).

    Anyone into the following:

New Order, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Cocteau Twins….

Great to see you’re a Sisters fan Alastair.

I ran into Wayne Hussey once, he asked what my favourite Mission song was, I said I preferred First Last and Always. He just stopped speaking to me there and then.

Anyone see that great scene at the end of that movie Fight Club when the skyscrapers start coming down to the tune of Where is My Mind?

They could never have done that now with sept 11

I’ve got an Apple G4 with a 40Gig drive that uses something called Firewire. It’s blindingly fast. You should see it downloading Digital Video in real time, that’s really fast.

Apocalypse Now is one of my all time favourties. Great napalm bombing (“I love the smell of napalm in the morning”)and best ever UH-1 action.

Indepedence Day was pretty silly. Hoards if fighters all attacking in tight formation. Firing sidewinders at a 20km wide target as well. What were they thinking???

I’m told what happened was that Odai and Qusai locked themselves into a toilet just off the main bedroom on the top floor of the house, while their bodyguard stood outside firing at US troops.

The US troops backed off and then from the street outside put a missile, TOW + AT4, into every room of the house, one by one, through the walls.

Odai and Qusai were killed instantly… unfortunately. They were both found dead in the toilet.
