I’m told what happened was that Odai and Qusai locked themselves into a toilet just off the main bedroom on the top floor of the house, while their bodyguard stood outside firing at US troops.

The US troops backed off and then from the street outside put a missile, TOW + AT4, into every room of the house, one by one, through the walls.

Odai and Qusai were killed instantly… unfortunately. They were both found dead in the toilet.

Bell Kiowa’s sprayed their building with missiles, probably rockets, do they carry hellfires?

I saw pics of TOWs being fired thro the front door from the road.

Seems it started when someone fired an RPG-7 at the 101st airborne guys when they arrived, and they then called up the Kiowa’s which got to work.

A few months ago, during the Iraq war, a real (dead) giant squid was found. It didnt make that much news because of all the war news. Let me try find it…

    ….got it,

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/2910849.stm

The unusual creature that is found in the warms waters off India and S Africa in the Indian ocean is the Coeleocanth (sp?), another story altogether.

can relate to the BTopenworld frustration. I’ve got the deal for 12 pounds in which you can only use it between 6pm and 6am and they insist on sending me spam about deals I don’t need. cheeky

    My pet hate: smoking

I just hate walking down the street and someone walking in front of me is puffing away and i have breath in their stinking odour. I find that people in the UK+Europe are very tolerant of smokers, too tolerant. People just light up in resturants and you have to put up with it while you eat. I don’t mind if people smoke, just so long as I don’t have to breath their stench as well.

I see what you’re saying Jonsey. But the core of my argument about the state of strategic intelligence is simply the shortage of hard results – a non-functional product, as you might say.

It beggars belief that 2 decapitation strikes were carried out, with what now appears to be no results, just what kind of information where they playing off here. Lets not even get onto the fact that they cant find Saddam, Mullah Omar or Osama. Do you know how much money these people have to throw at getting sources to talk, many millions. Then they’ve got 24/7 satellite and drone coverage as well as on the ground teams. That’s a huge resource.

With the commercial media, you a have variety of different outlets each acting independently, and putting their news out independently. In theory someone wanting an objective view of the news should be able to cross reference these independent sources of information to distill the most probable facts.

With government intelligence agencies, you have a vast network ,with competing interests, that acts under a centralised system of beauracratic control. The problem with this system is that there is a single point of gatekeeping that is far removed from the actual sources and which acts as a final arbiter of what is
put out. Take for example how an agent on the ground was aware of the 9/11 suicide pilots being trained, but the information was nullified in the administration process.

Ps Jonesy – I hope you don’t think I’m one of the people here who indulges in conspiracies, its not my game at all.
