The desert camo F-16 is an Israeli model, the oversized US markings being used for test/ferry flights.
I live near Wright-Patterson AFB and heres some of the planes I usually see
C-5A
E-4B
VC-25A
C-130
E-8C
E-6B
F-16C/D
F/A-18
A-10s
P-3
KC-135
KC-10
The C-X looks exactly like a twin engined C-17,not that thats a bad thing.Just kinda suprised they didn’t move into a four engine transport. The layout is almost the same as the C-1.Also,how much did Boeing contribute to the design,I know at least some.
Both the Bison and Blinder were beautiful aircraft.I personally liked the engine layout of the Blinder, pretty unique. The Bison looked like a Badger on steroids, but in a good way.The one you guys left out though was the M-50 Bounder.I know,it was just a prototype, still,a very beautiful aircraft.
No,maybe Firebars,but not Fiddlers.The Tu-128 was a different class of interceptor.
I always thought the trainer for the Fiddler, the Tu-128UT looked interesting with that seperate cockpit layout.Good interceptor though,I’d say the Russian version of the F-12 Blackbird.Large, good range to intercept bombers before the crossed the coast, and good speed for and aircraft its size.Since the AF cancelled the F-12,there really was no western counterpart, but I’d say that would have been it.The Su-15 was closer to the F-102/-106 IMHO and was good for shooting down airliners.

Theres 1 or 2 here at Wright-Patterson AFB,including the Hanoi Taxi, but they’ll be gone in a couple months. We already got the “new” C-5s.
The white Mi-24s used by the Russian Militia are known as Mi-24PS Hinds. They are used as SAR/Police helicopters.
How many Longbows have been lost now? I still think its a great chopper myself, just not suited for the types of missions in Iraq. Also, the Israelis haven’t lost one yet, mainly due to the fact they are used to fighting in an urban enviroment, whereas US pilots were trained to go tank hunting in europe.
There was,it was the NB-36H Peacemaker. It had a small water cooled reactor in the former bombay. As a bomber,it would have been a failure as with all the lead protective features and reactor itself,it could have only carried 4x 500lbs bombs.
It has both an inner and outter hull, meaning one torpedo his isn’t going to sink it.Also, its one of the quietest subs there are, right up next to the Ohio Class, and for a Russian sub, thats saying something. The Typhoons were designed to strike any targets from the safety of home waters in the Arctic. The hull being designed to smash through the ice to fire the missile. This is why, unlike the American Los Angeles and Ohio Classes, the dive planes are on near the forward hull as opposed to the conning tower on the American boats.Plus in an operational scenario, you’d have a good chunk of the Russian surface and subsurface fleet protecting the Typhoons, making them an even harder target to destroy.
One of the best ways to tell an SMT from a regular Mig-29 is look at the spine. The SMT has a fatter spine the a standard Fulcrum.
Well,I live in Ohio, right next to the base they were sent to,Wright-Patterson AFB.There is no aggressor Mig-29s flying here, only C-5s.They have I’d say between 1-3,that I’ve seen anyway. One -29UB two seater done up in supposed soviet camo with the big red star. Then there are 2 single seaters I’ve seen. One is stripped of the engines,IRST,etc and has no markings, but still in the green camo. The other I saw in 2003 at the base air show had full Moldovian markings, engines,IRST,etc.
I hate to change subjects, but what is the deal with the latest Q-5 variants such as the J model? Is it in service? How many?
What about the Q-5D and E? How many of those have been made?
From what I’ve heard, with the retirement of the JJ-6 Farmers, they decided to make a trainer of the Fantan so as they could continue training pilots on the type sice before they’d used just the standard two seat J-6.They’re also looking to expand this into the type being used,as mentioned before,as an LGB dropper and all weather model.
