I like Fury ( II, perhaps), since both the USN/USMC and the UK have had fron-line fighters named Fury before.

Not that I know of. We have both, and the Skystreak is larger.

Israel sems to cope well on all american kit, as does saudi (with teh exception of the tornados) , is it such an awful idea to comletely harmonise both air forces, perhaps to the extent that RAF sqds would be able to fit seamlessly into USAF expiditionary wings!? I am aware of teh strategic and industrial agruments for not doing so, but already the present RAF transport fleet (C-17s and C-130Js) would not look out of place if based in North Carolina! 🙂

Good Lord! The locals here in NC have enough trouble with accents, don’t make it worse!:D

Ah, the F-8……

The closest I ever got to see the real thing was back in the late 70s, I got to see USMC RF-8s while visiting my sister, who was in an A-6 unit at the time. My favorite Marine fighter of all time…..

Shame it took them this long to drop it. What will they use now if the Hulk escapes?:D

I do wish they would ditch the V-22, too. The tech is just not there yet, and the Marine I know who was involved with the project was not very hopeful about its prospects.
