No mention of 3 aircraft carriers. You’d think with all that satellite hardware the Pentagon would notice if China was building 3 45,000 ton Aircraft carriers.

That was my thinking, too. And I just have my doubts about Varyag being completed, as it needs a bunch of work……………

Some other articles related to this topic….

    China to Build Helicopter Carriers
    and…

    Aircraft Carrier for PLA Navy
(though I found some of the info suspect….)

I think theses rumors are interesting, if true, I have my doubts. Why have no pictures of any ships been seen? Why do these reports all seem unconfirmed? I would think that if one of these carriers was that close to completion, there would be more concrete reports, and pictures would have leaked. Or are uninformed observers mistaking LHAs for ACs? I need to see/read something a little more definite to clear up my doubts….
China easily has the ability to build carriers, but they still seem to lack the motivation or the will to spend the money/resources.

Here’s detail of the tail that is hard to see on your shot:

Here are the details from the plate in front of it. Matthews, NC is the city below Charlotte, where the museum is.
And Arthur, if you are on this side of the pond, look me up and I’ll give you the run of the place!:)

ANyway I thought you of all people might have some info on the V-33

Actually, Arthur is correct…that IS Crusader MkII (Geoffry) in the pic. He can’t wait to see the B-17 that is going to visit in May. I’m waiting for the AV-8C we are supposed to get this summer….
