any info on the jets which were shot downed ?
Boeing is getting paid for the consultancy for Tejas programme they are not doing it for FREE ,Race for MMRCA is shifted to Gripen NG and Euro fighter long time ago ,IAF knows it well that Americans will never allow European or Russian Missiles to be integrated into them ,looking at the current IAF Plans they want to maintain a commonality in their AAM
with this kinda of American attitude even in providing consultancy for the LCA testing, it will only hurt American chances of winning MMRCA and EADS are in full force this days
Nick, whats the the minimum interception altitude of the Akash SAM?

What the story behind the following MCA illustrations?

First picture are just basic drawings which is almost a decade old now while the second picture is of recent study done by ada (2006??)
only 80+80 engines will be ordered for Tejas between this two engines F414 and EJ200 ,still some chance of revival of Kaveri-2 ??
Abhimanyu it is wrong to say that MCA is only in drawing boards ,actually it is pure concept and nothing else ,it might be disappointing but actually nothing else been done at all
was talking to a pilot of IAF based in Agra couple of days ago was surprised to hear some top pilots in Iaf really want Grippen NG to win MMRCA ,working on a article based on it
Tom Cruise will not be doing ‘Top Gun 2’
BY : Msnbc
Sorry “Top Gun” fans, it appears Tom Cruise returning to the franchise has not been cleared for take off.
Earlier this week, reports surfaced suggesting Cruise was in line to reprise his role as Maverick in the fighter jet film, 22 years after the original.
However, “Access Hollywood” has confirmed those reports are false. When contacted by “Access,” a spokesperson for Paramount (which released “Top Gun” in 1986) said there was “no way” Cruise would be returning to the role.
In addition, a rep for Cruise also told “Access” the reports of a Maverick reprisal are completely untrue.
According to the erroneous reports, the sequel would have seen Cruise’s character returning to Top Gun school as a flight instructor.
Fans can catch Cruise on the big screen in a brief cameo in the upcoming comedy “Tropic Thunder,” which hits theaters Aug. 13.

auxiliary wing or LEVCONs (Leading Edge Vortex CONtrollers) is shukla talking about ?
same question can be raised if J-10 is good enough then why PLAAF is still buying Su-30 ? its that simple Tejas is a light aircraft ,iaf wants to maintain three class of aircraft ,Pak-fa and Su-30 will form heavy class ,Mig-29,MMRCA will form medium class ,while Tejas will form the light class
So if the LCA get 100 kN class engine, things should improve?
I think SNECMA, Eurojet and Klimov are willing to participate…
Within 3 months iaf will be given a Report on the engines that may be installed in the Tejas MK-II ,its between SNECMA and Eurojet ,but iaf will choose which engine it wants ,its not only air force but navy also want better engines for AC operations ,100 kn class engine will solve the problems of both the forces
Indian Express report of only achieving 17 AOA is proven false Tejas has already achieved 20 AOA as per IAF’s ASR it should be 22 AOA which might have been achieved or will be achieved with the new engine
and what the hell is GF-17s ? or is it JF-17 ? is PLAAF even inducted them for name sake ?
i thought a sukhoi squadron will be based there ,replacing the current 2 squadrons of Mig-21
i donot agree with respected soc here ,just by adding some one in ignore list doesn’t put end to the problem ,this forum might be visited by thousands of guest who are not even members here ,and wrong information on any aircraft and system cannot be tolerated since it gives bad impression of the aircraft and the weapons system to the international audience ,if people in forums want to advise aircraft manufactures where the aircraft should be tested, when it should be tested, provide their own made up facts and claims against the official source and still have guts to argue that people who work on the system/aircraft’s are liars ?? then no one can stop this forum from becoming another freak site just like some which are found in net and lose call its creditability with good aviation posters
sorry if it offends you SOC
