Rajkumar doesnot mention much about the MMR or Kaveri in his book ,but he did mention that a Prototype model of MMR was put in PV-2 from time it took it first flight

IJT passes hot weather trials in Nagpur

The Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) — HJT-36 – from the stables of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) scripted a piece of history when it successfully completed the first phase of the hot weather trials at Nagpur recently. The two prototypes of the aircraft (PT-1 & PT-2) logged eight hours of flight in a span of one week.

The combined 13 test sorties were carried out at high ambient temperatures as per the operational requirements. Both aircraft were soaked in hot conditions in the open for about 2-3 hours before the flights, while a mobile telemetry system carried out the online monitoring of the flights.

During the trials all the systems worked satisfactorily and the performance of the aircraft was as expected. The local temperatures of all critical systems and components were monitored using temperature sensors at various locations. All temperatures were found to be within acceptable limits.

These trials have given necessary inputs for aircraft performance prediction as well as reliability and satisfactory performance of its systems under high temperature conditions. The trials also gave useful inputs for improving the comfort levels of the pilots under testing conditions.

Patting Team IJT, HAL Chairman Ashok K. Baweja Baweja said: “One more milestone achieved towards certification and introduction of a world-class trainer in 2008.”

HAL Chief Test Pilot Sqn Ldr (Retd) Baldev Singh, who led the team, said the focus ahead is to get all the systems to a high degree of maturity and reliability so as to deliver a good flying machine to the customer at the earliest.

Director (LCA) Yogesh Kumar said the inputs would help enable to further fine-tune the design, especially to operate in the hot environment of the sub-continent.

Mohan, General Manager, Aircraft Research and Design Centre (ARDC) and P. Jayasimha, Project Manager, IJT Programme, felt that the trials have boosted the confidence of the team in the basic reliability of various systems. This, they said, would propel the programme move towards Operational Clearance as per the schedule.

The IJT is slated for induction into the Indian Air Force (IAF) by early 2008. Its first flight took place on March 7, 2003 and the two prototypes have so far completed 277 flights. The IJT is now getting ready for flying displays at the Farnborough Airshow (UK) to be held next month.

to get some Gas right i mean facts right which some people in this forum have enough ,if the go head for the ADA was given in 1985 first flight was to be achieved within five years (1990) and induction by 1995 (unrealistic) even IAF had doubted that, but go head only came in 1993 (Due to economical problems India faced) and roll out of TD-1 was in 1995 and hence the project had to be completed in phase wise with funds allocated were for building only Two TD (1&2) only, ADA was able to built PV-1 with the phase 1 fund allocation (Tight slap who called it over budget) and only in 2001 Second phase development fund was allocated for development of other PV (2,3,5) so we had PV-2 flying n 2005 which was much lighter and had better avionics then PV-1 as the whole Avionics was changed ,and rest is as all we know

This is no hot trial…….coz the difference is not much between bangalore sarrounding areas and Nagpur 35-40, most probably they took the LCA for RSS Showpiece.

and u work for which weather company ??

Nagpur highest temperature ever recorded was 48.6 °C and todays 36°C
Bangalore highest temperature ever recorded was 38.9 °C and Todays 22°C

thats more then 14°C temperature difference weather man

Nagpur is considered as Hottest place in India ,Nagpur lies in central India

so do some research before u start ranting again

Abhimanyu, Mod always ask for tenders from across the world as per their policies very similar to government offices in India ,but only Snecma actually provided some technology input to the kaveri program ,remember that French offer of testing kaveri on Rafale few years ago ,Snecma was all set to win the tender but as per rules Mod has to complete their procedure ,40+ GE engines are already in India now and they will power first 20 Tejas’s for sure ,Eurojet has been offered but not yet selected or ordered this is completely different proposition

first Kaveri K-9 will take off and it will be powering Tejas PV-1 in mid or late 2009 (only PV-1 was designed keeping Kaveri in mind ) while Kaveri K-10 will enter production by 2012 and full phase production by 2015

Why discount the russian engines altogether? Is there a thrust to weight issue with them that doesnt meet the LCA needs?

Russians engine was never considered even at the time the Tejas was in drawing boards in 90’s ,i have said first 40 Tejas A or Block 1 will be powered by GE engines and will not incorporate all the new stuff we are currently discussing

in the end, the facts remain, and the thing is already flying and ordered and because its got orders secure, and productoin models being built.. it means that it will have a future that is secure, and with a future comes the possibility of upgrades, which means more weapons being integrated and improvements being made, and thats what makes it successful.

if u r theory is applied to lca even Tejas program is already successful ,Tejas is flying, 3 prototypes are flying ,1 pre production aircraft is flying , 20+20 firm orders from IAF ,weaponisation is going on , further upgrades are already in the pipeline (Aesa, and better mission computers) ,new weapons designed keeping in mind Tejas (ASTRA AAM, Precision guided bombs)

French M-XX will have better chance then Euro engine to be selected ,Russian engine is out of question here ,Kaveri JV or development of new Kaveri II can lead to new project to meet the required thrust and for new MCA ,Kaveri will only enter production by 2015 by then 80+ Tejas will be powered by GE or the new INTERIM ENGINE

As per the Rajkumars book on Tejas ,IAF wanted aircraft were much similar to the current Mig-21 using similar technology even first Air staff Target (AST) issued then by the headquaters was missing FCS,Glass cockpit,Composite airframe,Multi funtion displays ,local MMR and Engine ,other two firms other then bae and dassult were MBB and Dornier of germany ,Dassault walked out of the program when American quadruplex was selected over the french FCS which was developed for Rafale with Analogue channel as a backup

then what is acceptable to you i have repeated this for the fourth time now does A Reputed Aviation magazine fall as crediable to you ??? or you want attested original documents from ADA it self ?? so BR,FI and no Reputed site meets your required quality standards that just great , you are just a Trolll who just want to drag this topic and wants to make sure that you avoid crediable indian Aviation Magazines

i donot have uncle and Aunties working in HAL ,who are you calling a kiddo here ??? i am a Master OF Journalism & Mass Communication student in manipal university , i know what source to trust i have already told you my source was a LRU Enginer from ADA working on Tejas ,you donot trust that i donot have problem with that ,i have also quoted same that it has been published in vayuaerospace magazine which i have mentioned twice in my earlier post but you are just too arrogant to accept the truth and keep on ranting that you need official papers and news report ,and about the 6G pull i have already provided you frontier India article and FI as provided exclusive photos of Tejas and information in the past

why donot you provide me recent official papers which proves that speed and Gs were not achieved unless you can use again same reports which have the same info even after years
