Close enough, its the protoype XSB2D, which i beleive was completed as or converted to the BTD!

My turn? (Not sure how we stand, re the Tsybin) Apologies for the crudely blanked out operator’s name on the fuselage and nacelles, which might have given it away.

I think they only apply though if you’re in a particular Economy booking class (and I doubt £393 rtn is going to be in one of those classes!)

That’s a great price. Where can I find that, please? Looking for a flight to BKK soon. Ta.

Three things, now I come to think of it.

    (1) Leaving the Chiropractor’s after another gruelling session, and not having to see him for another week.:)

    (2) SWMBO passing her Driving Theory test at the first attempt, despite a last minute panic when she’d forgotten one of the documents she needed. 🙂

    (3) Sitting at the PC watching a video of the old Ark Royal with my 2 year old on my knee, when he pointed and said “Fan-am” (Phantom) 🙂

Met John Nichol at an airshow once and he seemed a very affable type. Have to say I was rather disappointed in the only novel of his I tried though. Of all the downed coalition aircrew paraded on TV during the Gulf War the only ones we really remember now are John Peters and John Nichol, and I think that’s because just as the photo was taken Peters turned his head to one side to show the effects of the beating he’d had. It became one of the iconic images of the war and a symbol of Iraqi brutality, and I can’t help thinking if Peters hadn’t done that, Nichol would now probably be selling insurance or something. Re “Airshow World” I think I still have it on VHS in the loft somewhere; was that the one presented by Hazel Irvine (Now perhaps better known for snooker coverage)?

Hi Andy, and welcome aboard. Are you involved with this operation?

Congratulations on your survival and welcome to the Forum. As a matter of interest, what was your seat number?

You were VERY ABLE to see MILLIONS of sparks if sitting in the back of the plane. You also felt the tail bumping to the ground, THREE times. And you thought, this is it, this is how my life’s gonna end, in a plane crash.

Believe me, I know. I was ON THAT PLANE.

Maybe I’m being thick, but I still don’t understand how anyone could see sparks trailing at high speed backwards and underneath the tail of the aircraft.

Maybe I’m being cynical, but it seems a little odd that Petra apparently joined the forum only to make one post, and hasn’t answered the query about the seat number.

A British tourist aboard a flight that scraped the tarmac taking off from Melbourne has told of her terror.

The tourist, who did not want to be named, saw sparks fly from the rear of the plane but she said cabin crew would not tell them what had happened to flight EK-407 for another 30 minutes.

Small point, but if you were actually aboard would you really be able to see anything?
