Why is Sally B not participating? Is it still grounded due to engine problems?
10gb, not too bad. I took 2.5gb of pics today. Nice shot there.
I personally don’t think that Pink Lady will be grounded like said today, even though finding people who will devote their time and expertise to keep the Flying Fortresses in the skies is becoming harder and harder, I’m sure that someone will step in and save her from becoming a static museum piece.
Does anyone have any more information about the helicopter involved? Previous history etc?
According to the CAA’s GINFO, it was de-registered from UK reg in June 06 and then transferred to Yugoslavia. I’m assuming that it was about to be re-registered as a UK based chopper? Does anyone have any more information about it in it’s previous life etc? It was registered in France before being transfered to the UK as G-SKUL in 2003.
I’ve heard a lot about the crash in other threads/forums etc – what a sad, sad crash.
“After 45 minutes in the air, the port engine suddenly shut down, and, 10 minutes later, the other engine began to falter.”
Hmmmm, possibly a fuel problem?
Condolences to the families of those involved.
And am I correct in thinking in thinking that this this is the plane involved?
Jamie R.
RIP. God bless you Jimmy.
Any more videos of this at all? Any word from the pilots or anything?
Everyone did their bit to keep this a free country. Ernie did his bit, as did everyone else during the war. I thank you.
Rest in piece Ernie.
Regards,
Jamie.

I never had the chance to meet Brian Brown, but I thank him for his professionalism, skill and pure determination as a display pilot. We’ve lost a fine man in the aviation world.
It’s also extremely shocking to think that just a few weeks ago I saw the Hurricane flying, in all her glory, and she’s no more now. However, having said that, it makes me seem extremely shallow, without any thought for the pilot’s family. That is far from the case.
My heart also goes out to the family of Colin McRae and those involved in the crash in Scotland. It has certainly been a extremely bad weekend for aviation, now with news emerging of the Thai air crash.
Also, I can’t believe anyone has the audacity to put a video of the Shoreham air crash on YouTube, don’t they have any respect for the pilot’s family at this time?
God bless.
A good topic for debate, and one which will be put to a discussion. However, given the current circumstances, today (as already stated) probably isn’t the best day to discuss this.
It has certainly been one tragic day. Reminds me back back to the Biggin Hill Aerofair tragedies.
My sincerest condolences go out to the families of those killed over the weekend. Rest in peace.
Jamie.
BTW I see you come from Walton on the Naze – I used to live down that way and went to school just down the road at Tendring High School (as was). Small world…
Wooh…I go to Tendring High School (well now it’s called Tendring Technology College)..Small world, sure is 😀
