I only met Ray last year at the Airshow Eelde, too bad I’ve never been able to meet Mark.
RIP
Thank you, specially for the B25 RNEIAF 😀
It was a B-25D-35-NC USAAF 43-3833
After the war it was renamed M-408 and served AURIS.
I was at RAF Binbrook last year! I’ve been at the HQ / barrack area and the hangars where the control tower was with the memorial. I did see old cars and trucks but nothing of a plane. I also went to the town to see the Lightning in the garden.
Thanks for all the photos.
I think burying is a very quick and easy way to get rid of things and it has been done for a long time. And it is a good way to quickly camouflage things. They probably had other things on their mind besides getting rid of aircraft in an environmental friendly way.
I am no ghost expert though I did watch a lot of Scooby Doo and Ghost Busters, but that photo looks really weird. The “ghosts” face seems to be generating light since the rest of the light seems to be coming from either the windows above or a spotlight on the right. Only the “ghost” has colours, the rest of the photo does not. The “ghost” also has a strange smile on his face. It almost looks more like a face from a comic book than a photo. I’d say nice job in Photoshop.
Who’s “ghost” is it?
I have these 2 websites that list UK Airfields but I was not able to find the A-39 code.

But I think Robbo is right.

Where? In Rotterdam! :p
No not really to race it just a modified one with bigger engine, better brakes, etc… Just the mods they use for racing to improve the airplane because the Yak-11 can handle it.
I’ve seen it about a year ago, ordered it at http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/ (Canada)
I loved it too 😀
A while ago I put an idea on my website to restore 2 Yak-11’s. One to original specs and one as “air racer”. The colour profile of the original I found here: http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Markings/yak11/yak11-1.php
My plan here: http://www.warbird-hangar.com/page.php?2
Well I have to agree with Cees a bit. The museum is just half full of crap.
They recently got a Saab Viggen that flew in and they are letting it rot away outside. Now I understand why. The rest of the indoor military items are also in bad shape. I have to cry when I see the B-25 cockpit.
The sale of the Spitfire really saddens me.
If it’s not for the money, give it to me, I can arrange plenty of space for a new museum.
Bruce, who says you don’t? I have already had 4 backseat rides in the Yak-52 and I started as a donator. 😀

If you would not know about this artefact, would you know that the crew have been killed?
You need the artefact to think about the lives lost. And an artefact is different from black and white pictures, it’s more real, something you can touch. That’s my opinion.
Participants:
Airshow Venues – Duxford
The Fighter Collection – Flying Legends
What you can expect are the Duxford locals I guess. 😉
I am hoping for ME109 / ME262 / FW190 / Yak 9.
