I am not surprised that the Flanker is equiped with non-ideginous weapons or avionics. The Flanker provides an extremely versatile mission load that can be tailored to suit to customers need. We are dealing with a non-NATO aircraft of origin, so it doesnt have to go thrugh the political bearucrat of what weapons and avionics are not/are permited. The potential of this aircrfat in particuler is very great and I think that Sukhoi has an idea of how wonderful and useful economic tool this can be to bring up thier profits. South Africa is only an example of what countries can contribute to offer ideas to “westernize” this plane! We got Thales(working with India), South African consortion possibly consisting of Denel, Elbit and IAI of Israel, and China(with their own homegorwn companies. Of course I did not mention American companies because the US gov will never permit that. I think the Su-30 and series of families will exponential increase the capabilities of “non-Western” air forces custom tailored for their needs.
Hmmmm f-22’s for Japan? I think it will eventually come true…after fielding the F-2 and becomes fully operational. Actually, I feel confident that Japan will be the first export nation to field the F-22 in the years to come!! Erez, I will change that signature…
Awesome pictures fellas…..keep them coming!!!!
I read about the P-99 is a version of the EMB-145 and at least one was bought by the Mexican government. I dont think they have a flying prototype yet. Do you know the specs on this plane…how many hardpoints does it have? I’ve seen artist’s impression with 2 and 4 hardpoints. I’ve seen plans for the maritime Tucano fitted with anti-ship missiles but I cannot tell wich ones it carries. Do you?
Yep, it appears to be aircraft above. I am afraid that Arthur and Huitong are right. There has been some specualtion about his new type of research for some time but the Chinese have not intregrated into an airframe. This marks a another new milestone for the Chinese aerospace industry. Thanks for the great pictures.
Again, great pictures Portugal!!!! Very nice scheme on that chopper. What is that radome underneath the forward fuselage doing doind there? This is the first time I see somthing like this. Is this EH 101 a naval variant? Let me know!!…p.s. how a bout more pictures of the EH 101? And the EC-135?
I can’t read German!!!
I understand that the purchase of a single aircraft for the Chilean Air force does not fulfill the AEW requirement. I know that this aircraft flies very seldom and when it does it is hampered by its cost of operation and lack of spare parts. To have an effective and efficient AEW role, the air force needs to aquire three more aircraft. Due to the financial problems, it seems highly unlikely that Chile will buy more aircraft. In my humble opinion, the Phalcon/Condor project invested by Chile is to show of force and technological improvement in the region.
Great response yellow. There has to be a specific timeframe to acquire new trainers. Do you think that Lockheed(with its T-50) has a done deal with them or does Bae(with the HAWK) claim that their plane is going to chosen for the UAEAF needs? Is this all going to happen this year? Is it a show of market power from these great companies to sell a “new car or a used one”? As far as military sales, when Saudi going to buy a suitable aircraft to replace its F-5? Is the F-16 out of the questions? What other options does SAudi have to replace this venerable aircraft…Gripen? Thanks again for the great insight!
Nice photos Porugal! They are great. I have a comment that pic of the EC-135 launching a Hellfire…..that looks like it was photoshop and its from the Erocopter website. I dont think tha EC-135 is cleared to launch the Hellfire just yet. Do you any pics of the EC-135 outfitted with the HOT launchers? Any info is appreciated in advance…the EC-135 is one of my favorite choopers around.
I agree with you YellowSun, why would UAEAF buy over 100 new cobat aircarft without having an effective trainer syllabus for its pilots. It would mak a lot of sense to have a strong trainer infrastructure BEFORE aquiring new planes. What’s your philosophy behind this decision? Why would a small arab nation carry a heavy burden? Would it be detrimental for its forces in the long run??? By this I mean would its naval or land forces suffer from lack of money to support it because all that money is going into the air force? There has to be a logical explanation behind this thought. Is it because Saudi Arabia is stiffining its relationship with the US, resulting that the American government is “buddy-buddy” with UAE and therefore, Lockheed has a strong marketing leverage in the that country? “Riddle me” this YellowSun? Thanks again…..
That excellent information from both of you guys!!! Great in depth details…I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks again fellas!..
Thank you YellowSun for your reply. Your statesments help back up this tread that UAE is definetly LOOKING for a trainer, that not being the MAKO noe the HAWK, in the near future and I have my money on the T-50. If the UAE does signs contracts with LOckheed what would it mean for the other potential trainers on paper like the MAKO? Let me ask you this YellowSUn how many trainers will the UAe need? Thanks again fellas!!
Fantastic photos Portugal!!! Great awsome pics!!! Do you have any photos of the military version of the EC-135?? Thanks again!!!!
Ja worsly I think you are talking about the Puma. The 20mm under nose chin turret exist only in the Romanian IAR version and the South African Oryx version has a 20mm cannon proposal under mid-section of the fuselage in the sling well. As for the pictures…thanks fellas those are very very nice pictures!!! Thanks for the Help!!!
