Canada don’t need a revolutionary improvement, they need an evolutionary
An evolutionary improvement is NOT going to be future proof for the 40 or so years they plan on operating the aircraft especially when said aircraft are not remotely low observable. And if didn’t want revolutionary improvement over their Hornets they’d would have settled for a Gripen or some other jet with average capablity jet a long while ago.
Typhoon is damned expensive to operate BTW. It is not a budget jet so again chances are if they can’t afford to operate the F-35 then they can’t afford to operate Typhoon.
And thats enough from me in a news thread.
The plane with the wing (F-111, Su-24, B-1B, Tu-22M, Tu-160) is able to fly at a height of 30 – 50 meters at supersonic speed. Other aircraft (F-15E, Su-34) no more than M = 0.85.
Not true. I’ve seen HUD tapes that say otherwise.
They cant afford it but blame the refueling
Lets be honest here, if they can’t afford the F-35 then they probably can’t afford any of the others with the exception of the Gripen, which of course would not bring a revolutionary change to their airforce that the F-35 and to a lesser extent the other types would. And wasn’t the Typhoon at last count actually more expensive than the F-35?
CM-400AKG beats Air-Brahmos fair and square, WTH it doesn’t even need warhead, kinetic energy is enough and an aircraft carrier will be toast. 😉
No, it wouln’t be ‘toast’ at all, with or without a warhead. Mission killed yes but one of these won’t sink a large carrier.
All Argentina have to do is to bomb the living hell out of those two spots and the enemy (as in the UK) wont have any airplanes that are operational in the area.
So you’re saying the Argentinians should bomb the only two airfields on the islands? But then how do they resupply their forces once they’ve taken the islands? Seems like a foolish thing to do.
A slicked off Typhoon on point defense is a very nasty encounter for any pilot no matter what they may fly, but in a BVR contest i’m not so sure the Typhoon would come out on top given the stealthy measures included in the J-20’s design. Then again the Typhoon would no doubt be much more advanced electronically in terms of AESA and ECM + systems integration which is a big plus point in its favour.
Who knows at this stage until more details on the J-20 come to light. I just hope its build quality is better than that of the Chinese manufactured treadmill I bought a while back.

Please contribute something of substance to the thread, and leave the insults out of it please.
Take your own advice too pal as you’ve insulted people multiple times on this thread and those you insulted were members of this board unlike myself who directed insults at the wacko Argentine government and its supporters.
You sir are a hypocrite.
Belethor.
The conversation has remained cordial.
Except for your good self, and Tempest.
Tempest appears as if he still reads the Boys Own Annual, and so can be forgiven perhaps, and ignored.
You seem an erudite type though. You might like to take your own advice and drop the name calling and petty insults. Your post number 126 is an illustration of the type of emotional outburst that leads threads astray.
There are Argentine posters on the forum, who have so far conducted themselves in an exemplary manner.
I understand from your posts that you’re a supporter of the dim-witted Kirchner then. No wonder you got upset when I quite rightly called her out as a nut case.
And I can’t work out why you think i’ve insulted Argentine posters on this forum, care to show me? Actually don’t bother as i’m not interested enough to care what you perceive an insult to Argentine posters on this board is, if a mod takes up the issue that’s fine but you’re are not in any positon to act as judge and jury on this forum therefor I will set you to ignore and avoid your snobbish posts.
Belethor is just another one of the Jon James reincarnations that keeps popping out whenever a hot topic occurs, I wonder why you even bother answering.
Funny that because i’d heard you were infact an yet another incarnation of this ‘Jon James’ fellow, perhaps we should all avoid you…?
Or, on the other hand certain posters could act like adults and not children for a change and stop this petty, paranoid nonsense whereby they accuse people of being people they are not. Which is the better option?
If this “fact” you highlight was so clear cut and uncontroversial as you say, my friend, there would be no issue at all, correct?
But the Angentinian government believes these are their islands and they were able to persuade all the other governments of the continent of this and by consequence the roughly 380 million people they represent. I’m sorry if this opinion does not suit yours but just by ignoring it will not make it go away, I’m sorry. 😉
It doesn’t work that way, son. You see, it doesn’t matter if there are 380 million, billion or even trillion people on your continent who want to see Argentina take hold of the Falklands as the siomple fact is the people there are British, they want to remain British and the British government and people agree with this.
War is the only way the nut-cases in Argentina will get their grubby little mitts on the Islands, Kirchner knows this all to well but would rather tread the path down that road than keep her gob shut, she’s a narrow-minded idiot as are those that want to see the Falklands stolen away from the people that belong there.
Drop it Belethor: There will be no war!
If there is a war or not it certainly won’t be down to me! However if you’d like to avoid a war then your best plan would be to pick a a pen or get on your keyboard and write a message to Cristina Kirchner and ask her to knock off her imperialistic war mongering regarding the Falkland Islands.
If you want to sling **** at each other that’s fine, but you can hardly claim the high-ground whilst doing so. “Narrow-minded Argies” indeed.
The sad thing is that Obligatory is right on the money when he refers to the Argentinian government as narrow-minded. So narrow-minded infact that their quest to colonise the Falklands could well lead Argentina into another deadly war with serious reprecussions for their people. Not very smart folks in power over there.
1st major issue – Which country has the “rights” to the islands?
Actually that’s the first and only issue – the Islands are British and the people living there wish to remain British, end of story. I can’t for the life of me work out why folks here are even bothering to ‘debate’ this issue (Obviously it’s a convenient excuse by some to beat the tiresome anti British drum but considering those folks are well and truly clueless or willfully ignorant as to the facts surrounding the islands why even bother reading their posts.)
Flankers flying long endurance CAP missions over the Falklands would present themselves rather nicely as a strong target on the radar scopes of British warships. Probably be able to track them at near max range.
