KG12
Here’s a German KG12E
Yes, the KG14 was fitted to early subtype Fw190s, the Hs129, and, as I recall once seeing a photo in FlyPast, at least some Me210/410 aircraft. The KG13B and KG13C replaced it in later 190s.
The odd Ruskie grip is out of the rust remover and looks much improved. No progress on making the other side, work and Cockpit fest kept getting in the way. That’s a very nice 190 grip. Was similar fitted to the Hs129? Less impressive is this Seahawk grip: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191895776035?_trksid=p2060353.m1431.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Parts for Luftwaffe KGs
I contacted Mr. Horst Rienecker, proprietor of AeroParts, as to the availability of items for KGs. He still offers some parts and can be reached at: h.rienecker@googlemail.com. Replies may take a few days.
I,m not sure Aeroparts have parts for sale anymore.
WW2 Luftwaffe KG12A. The F6/R10 markings link this one to a Ju87, perhaps a 87B or 87R. The KG12 type also flew on early-model Bf109s and Bf110s.

Hi all, I’ve had this KG12E grip a while now and it’s always been missing the electrical cover, does anyone out there know where I could find a replacement/reproduction or original cover? It would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you for any leads in advance, and feel free to PM me with any details. Thanks, regards Sam.
Anson yokes are advertised now and again on eBay so not too difficult to acquire, normally in the £150-£250 bracket. What is hard to find though is one with a gun button which will raise the price up quite a bit.
Thank you. Hope it finds a good new home.
So it’s an Anson control wheel. I had no idea what it was, other than not German. (I collect stick grips and data plates from WW2 German planes.) is such a relic rare/common?
A basic German KG13B stick grip as removed by by a US soldier. The “V7” painted on the terminal cover, a circuit identification code, indicates that this grip was fitted to a Messerschmitt Me262 jet. The large button added to the side of the unit served to cycle the nose-mounted Mk108 30mm cannons in the event of a jam/misfire.

KG13C “stick top” (Knüppelgriff) on a control stick (Steuerknüppel) removed from a Bf(Me)109K-4 by a GI as a “war prize”.
This WW2 German grip, a KG13A, was taken by a US soldier towards the end of the war. It came out of a Bf109 discovered “near an Autobahn”. Adding to his gain, he also removed the main ID plate from the same plane (Bf109 G-14 WNr. 491496) and the label for the landing gear emergency-release control in the cockpit. The three items are displayed on a simple base made of wood.

PS. Am looking for pics of KG12 grips. Who can help? Thanks, Steve
Sadly, no story other than it came home with a GI. ID is based on the stick shape and circuit code (1V104) on grip cover plate.

That is the stuff of legend! Amazing piece. Is there a story?

Tony,
That’s a terrific, rare KG! The designation is KG 13R; it’s a derivative of the basic KG 13C, providing autopilot control switches. The 13R was used on the Me262B night fighter (a 13R is on the 262B survivor in South Africa) and likely on other later-war “joy stick” aircraft that featured autopilot systems. Thanks for showing.
Steve
Sfp54 – love the grip….this is off a Me262 I think (hope!)
