Saw a BA 737 believe it was a 400 at LGW yesterday. The paintjob looked a lot bolder and the british airways titles on the fuselage looked different. Anybody know which aircraft this is it was too far away to see the reg. Was wondering if they’ve leased one to cover any shortages.
Thomas Cook currently uses an A320 from Bristol to different parts of the Canaries and First Choice has seats on it as I don’t believe they serve Bristol during the winter.
TCX UK 16x B757 summer 06. additional 757 due from First Choice. 1 to be based at EMA instead of the usual A320.
just looked on Ba.com and it is there and bookable. Didn’t check the return flight though. The only times i have known Ba to use a 777 is when the previous flight has been cancelled but this doesn’t appear to be the case.
The Titan 757 was at LGW on Friday operating a TCX flight to Mahon. Due to a technical issue with a TCX aircraft. No delay as it was forseen from the previous day.
I was driving along the M25 on Wednesday afternoon at about 3.30 and saw an unmarked 737 taking off but on the other runway closest to T4 was a A340 that also appeared to be taking off (couldn’t catch the livery, too far away). This suddenly banked left before reaching the motorway and headed off quite low in a south easterly direction. I presume it was an aborted landing. Wonder if this was the incident in question?
There are many charters from Gatwick that offer services to the Dominican usually flying into Puerto Plata, Punta Cana or La Romana. Have a look at a few of there websites. i.e Thomas Cook, My Travel, First Choice and Britannia you can also book a holiday through them. A cheap flight from Dublin to LGW and back with Ryanair or BA shouldn’t be too expensive booking this far ahead.
I believe virgin or possibly a franchise of theirs used to have one or two A321s that they used to use on the LHR-ATH route. They no longer operate this route or the aircraft too much competition with BA and Olympic I guess.
I was at LGW on Sunday and noticed a European 747 in the blue colours outside on of the hangers i believe it is G BDXH with an engine missing. Looking at the above picture I know where it has gone now. It was missing from the exact same place.
I have just found out that a couple of BA’s new A320s are actually ex Aer Lingus machines that are actually still quite new. Seems very odd to dispose of some aircraft and then get the same type again.
It wouldn’t surprise me if it was Astreaus or similar a it is a similar size to their B737s. Savings could only be made on weight and fuel for the others that have A320s. Thecrew complement would be the same. TCX just got a new A320 in the UK and possibly MYT. If I was a betting man I would definately go with the Astreaus.
I’m suprised that an A330 can get in and out of Corfu have you seen the length of the runway.
NW still operate DC10s from LGW to Detroit and Minneapolis. Maybe you should try to connect in the US if you go to the states again.
There must have been something going on at Dublin aswell today. Every arrival from Dublin into LHR both BMI and Aer Lingus were all arriving about 2 hours late today. Can anybody help with the cause????
They used to fly either an A320 or A321 on the LHR-ATH route. They no longer fly this route so no longer have this aircraft.
